		<description>Maybe I&#039;m being naive, but I agree with Melancon.  It&#039;s a no brainer.  Vitter votes against the ammendment and shows his support for the fine people of Louisiana, but then he votes against the overall bill, demonstrating that he truly supports what&#039;s best for the fine people of Louisiana.  In that way, if healthcare passes, Vitter not only voted against the worst piece of legislation in history, but he voted to help lessen the negative impact on his state.  If healthcare doesn&#039;t pass (and you know I hope it doesn&#039;t), well, &quot;I tried, Mary.&quot;  Besides, the ammendment will pass unless other states Senators can get a $300million kickback for their states, too.

The opposition party is going to criticize Vitter regardless.  With the core issue sitting on the shelf for 10 months, its obvious that this was all framed to damage Jindal and Vitter, anyway.</description>
