But that travel did afford me a different perspective on the game, as I listened to it from Baton Rouge, then Natchez, then Monroe. Though this was a great victory for the Saints and their fans in New Orleans who have patiently awaited this moment for over four decades, it was no less a victory for Mississippi and the entire state of Louisiana. Dining service in Wynnsboro was less efficient than normal, as wait staff in full Saints wardrobe were distracted and excited by the game. Fireworks, whooping and hollering, and horm blowing was no less sedate in Ruston. This was a victory for us all. Congratulations, Saints - world champions in 2010!
