Quote Of The Day

“These are Republican CEOs who are trying to embarrass the President and Democrats in general. Where do you hear about this stuff? The Wall Street Journal editorial page and conservative websites. No one else picked up on this but you guys. It’s BS.”

- An unnamed White House legislative affairs staffer, quoted by the American Spectator, when asked about the announcements of writedowns by AT&T, John Deere, Verizon and other firms last week.

This quote, this theory, would suggest that CEO's of major corporations are (illegally) falsifying financial documents so as to show a significant reduction in profits, thus significant negative financial impact on themselves and their stockholders, so as to make a political point?

    Ya think?

I find the quote to be breathtakingly unintellectual and dishonest – but unfortunately highly typical of today's Democrat Party. No dissent from their policies deserves an honest examination; it's driven by racism and hatred of a black president. Criticism of their spending is illegitimate because "Republicans did it, too" – albeit at a rate of deficit less than a quarter of what's currently happening. Obvious foreign policy mistakes can't be criticized because "the world hated Bush."

These are people unhinged from any sense of reality, and thoroughly unfit to lead.

The article from which you extracted the quote clearly quotes a staffer as indicating that many supporters of this legislation had no idea what it said, or what would be the consequences. Now the consequences are different from their expectations, and they are defensive.

        How much longer 'til November?

It's pretty clear that this cabal in charge of the White House is uninterested in anything but their own power. They're very dangerous people.
