Vitter Introduces Obamacare Repeal Legislation
This isn’t going to pass, obviously, but it’s on the record. It should be the bill the Republicans pledge to pass if they get control of the Senate. And the fight should continue until Obamacare is repealed in January 2013.
Hopefully the Supreme Court will beat Vitter’s bill to the punch.

I've been a lurker here for quite some time. And I'm a big fan of your writing. However, I'm concerned that there is no conservative out there who could defeat the Democrat Messiah. Could you please let us all know who you believe is the GOP's David that will defeat the Democrat Goliath?

Ummmmm…. I thought that Louisiana was one of the states that would benefit THE MOST from this healthcare bill. We are one of the poorest states with one of the highest percentage of uninsured residents. I am one of those uninsured — although I am willing and able to pay up to $225/month in private health insurance premiums, I have been denied by both Humana and United since moving to LA two years ago. All because THREE YEARS AGO I took some prescription meds for 4 months (for night sweats — and it worked). I dont go to the doctor or get checkups anymore, because I am afraid of creating more "pre-existing conditions".
Now maybe i can actually BUY some health insurance. That is, if the premiums are within my reach. My girlfriend, on the other hand, will never be able to leave the job she HATES HATES HATES or open her own business, because she does have an illness and will actually die if she does not have some sort of health care plan. The meds and blood tests are just too expensive without insurance. And we pay TWICE as much as any other country in the world for this kind of health care system? Yeah, maybe we should repeal the bill and continue to do NOTHING. Its also a great way to promote entrepreneurship in this country where we are supposed to live the American Dream. I guess that only applies to the wonderful CORPORATE american dream. Lets also get rid of all musicians, artists, waiters, since they mostly cant afford private health care and will just continue to be a drain on the system. We can't afford for them to get sick.
By the way, what are Mr. Vitter's suggestions to improve health care in America, or does he just not care as long as he gets his senatorial health insurance?
You are correct that our current system that ties insurance to employment is fundamentally flawed. That wasn't a GOP idea and never has been.
The Republican plan would forever break that tie, so that no one is stuck in a job just for the insurance.
