Spears challenges Vitter

Independent U.S. Senate candidate Mike Spears faces an uphill battle to beat Sen. David Vitter Spears on Election Day, so on Wednesday, Spears vowed to beat Vitter in a mixed-martial arts cage match.

Spears of Lafayette challenged Vitter to a three-round bout Oct. 16 at USA-MMA’s “Return of the Champions” event at the Cajundome.

This will really make the State of Louisiana look like a bunch of backwood rednecks.

Look, you KNOW they could fill the Superdome with that match! Probably generate enough sales to pay off Louisiana's deficit. And that's WITHOUT even considering the pay-per-view sales!

I read that Spears is supported by Tea Party folks. Now which Tea Party folks are these? Is the Alex Jones crowd of Tea Party of Louisiana or more credible folks?

I have yet to find a Tea Party group who has officially endorsed Mr. Spears. That's not to say one doesn't exist; I just haven't seen any.

The Tea Party of Louisiana has been very supportive of Sen. Vitter to date.
