GOP Rep. Cao ‘Hurt’ After Obama Endorses Dem, Warns of Opponent’s Ethics History

“He didn’t even have the courtesy (to call us)” before running the ad, Cao spokesman Devin Johnson told FoxNews.com. “That hurt the congressman. At least, he wanted that courtesy.”

“I believe that has happened in the congressional race for District 2 here in Louisiana,” Cao said in a written statement. “No one apparently told the president that Cedric Richmond had his law license suspended for lying to the voters; that he has been the subject of two ethics violations while a legislator.”

But Cao says there must be an explanation — Obama must not have known about Richmond’s ethical problems.

I find it amusing that he thought he could sleep in a bed with a rattlesnake and not be bit. See what selling out to Democrats will get you??????

    How now, Red Cao?

  2. Citizen K says:

Let’s face the fact that his being elected truly was an anomaly. Jefferson ran out of money and in the general election could not afford to pass micro electioneer and hand out expense checks to voters.

  3. Mark Matis says:

Cao would not win re-election even if he was handing out fistfuls of Benjamins to the natives. Look past your political correctness.

  4. Ryan Booth says:

President Obama won that district 75%-23% and is still very, very popular in the district. Even though it looks pathetic, Cao’s “hurt” stance is the smart one to take. Cao needs to keep up the “if only Obama knew how corrupt my opponent is” theme. Cao’s probably still going to lose, but there was never a path to victory that involved being the opponent of the President.

We agree on this. Cao’s only hope is to destroy Richmond, but he has to be the nice guy in doing it.

Particularly in that part of the dirt on Richmond involves allegations of violence toward women. That has to be handled delicately.

  5. Mark Matis says:

Why does ANYONE care whether Cao wins or loses, except for the GOP “prestige”? He’s a Democrat. Nothing he votes for is going to have ANY conservative value. And the GOP will waste precious capitol trying to “buy” his vote on anything that matters. This very site identified the problem with Castle in Delaware. Same situation applies here.

    • macaoidh says:

Because he would vote against Pelosi, that’s why.

You can’t get anybody better than Cao elected. If he loses it’s not the end of the world. But it’s nevertheless preferable to have Cao in office than a masher and a crook who will vote to the left of Chairman Mao 100 percent of the time.

  6. He didn’t vote against Pelosi when it mattered most, i.e., Obamacare. Not that his one vote mattered, but it was deemed “bipartisan” as a result.

  7. Sid says:

He has actually represented his district unlike all our so-called representative Mr. Melancon ever did during his reign. Agree or disagree with Cao, he represented the majority of his constituents.

  8. Mark Matis says:

As will Richmond. Cao is nothing more than a Cajun Castle.
