Hebert replacing Painter as ATC commissioner

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – Louisiana state Sen. Troy Hebert will be named as the new commissioner for the Alcohol and Tobacco Control Board on Wednesday.

A Jindal administration official confirmed Hebert will replace Murphy Painter, who resigned back in August after a former employee accused him of stalking her and using a state database to view thousands of people’s personal information.

Painter’s case is pending in court.

A Jindal aide said Hebert “is expected to be appointed with a wide array of support from industry leaders, law enforcement officials and legislators.”

Louisiana State Police will make the announcement.

All of us in Iberia Parish will not lament State Senator Muckrakers “commitment, passion and dedication” to lining his families pockets from Hurricane clean up funds. On the local front, it is rumored that Gordon’s Disposal will be providing a 20 vehicle Garbage Truck Escort for Mr. Hebert to the Parish Line to ensure an expedient exit where the entire Airport Commission will hold a ceremony in celebration of his departure. Our sincere sympathies to anyone with business before the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. You might want to stock up on unmarked $20′s and brown paper bags.
