Of course Romney does. He needs to win New Hampshire and polls must indicate that’s not a slam dunk.
While Perry readily admits he’s not a good debater, he’s excellent at retail politics and it’s in that arena where votes are earned. Ergo, the only way to stop Perry in his tracks is to destroy his reputation – accusations of racism are easy to make and almost impossible to shake. In that regard, I hope Perry is made of teflon and not of velcro.
