Louisiana Life March

Louisiana’s pro-life forces will gather Saturday, January 12th, for their annual march from downtown Baton Rouge to the State Capitol. Senator Vitter, Archbishop Aymond, Gene Mills and other prominent Louisiana leaders will address the participants.

The event is organized by Ben Clapper with Louisiana Right to Life but also sponsored by the Louisiana Baptist Convention, Louisiana Conference of Catholic Bishops, Louisiana Family Forum, the Knights of Columbus, Baton Rouge Right to Life, the Hippocratic Resource, and Louisiana’s Concerned Women for America.

Activists will gather at noon at the march will start at 1 pm. Here is the detailed schedule:

  • 12:00 PM: Gather behind Old State Capitol (100 North Blvd)
  • 1:00 PM: Program begins and participants march from Old State Capitol, up North Blvd, then down Fourth Street to State Capitol (Walk is 0.8 of a mile).
  • 1:50 PM: Prayer and Inspiration on the steps of the State Capitol lead by religious, government, and community leaders.
  • 2:45 PM: Life Ministry Mobilization Area near Capitol where you can find out how to get involved.

According to Benjamin Clapper, Executive Director of Louisiana Right to Life, “We are looking forward to uniting the pro-life people of Louisiana once again, across all denominational lines, to take a stand for life in our Capital. Over 500,000 Louisiana children have been lost to abortion, and we will march in honor of their lives and for an abortion-free Louisiana.”
