The Hilarious Jesse Jackson, Jr. Primary

We’re excited because our guy Paul McKinley is the GOP nominee after pulling out a close race last night.

Like we said, we know McKinley can’t win in next month’s special election for Jesse Jackson, Jr.’s old congressional seat in Illinois’ 2nd District. We just hope he can rattle enough cages, make enough noise and attract enough attention to shake up the establishment in Chicago. The Democrat machine in that city is a disgusting morass of corruption, stupidity, incompetence and moral degeneracy, and nothing McKinley says about that machine and Robin Kelly, the machine’s Democrat nominee after last night’s primary, is too harsh.

But the media’s reporting of that primary is hilarious.

Kelly won the race over 16 other Democrat primary challengers in a district which is 21 percent white. The only white candidate of the 17 was Debbie Halvorson, a former incumbent who’d been redistricted out of her own seat.

Halvorsen, who differed from Kelly policy-wise only in that she ran on a pro-2nd Amendment message (Kelly regurgitated Rahm Emanuel’s moronic gun-grabbing rhetoric, per the Chicago Democrat Machine’s dictates), managed 24.4 percent of the vote. Kelly won with 51.8 percent.

Meaning the vote almost mirrored the racial makeup of the district. The white candidate outpaced the white vote by all of three points.

But because Michael Bloomberg wasted $2.3 million in campaign spending on behalf of Kelly, who was going to win anyway, pushing an anti-2nd Amendment message, here’s how The Hill reported the election results

Gun control supporter Robin Kelly (D) cruised to victory over former Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D-Ill.), who favors gun rights, on Tuesday in the Democratic primary to replace former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.), giving supporters of new gun-control laws a big win in Illinois at a key moment in their battle.

Kelly led Halvorson 56 percent to 20 percent with 60 percent of precincts reporting. Halvorson has called Kelly to concede the race.

A Halvorson win would have dealt a major blow to advocates of increased gun regulations. Early on, a crowded field and Halvorson’s high name identification in the district made that appear possible. But a combination of heavy spending against Halvorson, efforts by top Democrats to clear the field for Kelly and Halvorson’s own inability to raise any money or run much of a campaign led to her defeat.

Riiiiiiight.

Kelly, of course, wouldn’t attribute her victory to Bloomberg’s money or the Chicago machine clearing the decks so she could post an easy win. Instead, this intrepid political pioneer had to take a poke at the NRA…

In her victory speech, Kelly said voters sent a message that tells the National Rifle Association (NRA) “that their days of holding our country hostage are coming to an end. And their days of scaring Congress into submission on gun control are coming to a close.”

Since McKinley – who we’ll admit comes from a checkered past and did time before straightening his life out – has little chance to win, here’s hoping he can at least shoot as many holes as possible in this bloviating buffoon before Election Day. If you’d like to assist him in that effort, pay a visit to his website and give what you can. After all, McKinley has repented of his criminal behavior. That has to put him on a moral plane above a member of the Chicago Democrat machine bought and paid for by Mike Bloomberg, right?
