Hey Melissa Harris-Perry, Is It Racist To Call You A Babbling Idiot?

The Daily Caller does the work we can’t bring ourselves to do – namely, to actually watch Melissa Harris-Perry’s TV show on the weekend. We’re far too busy worshipping at the Church Of The Play Action Pass to imbibe the MSNBC kool-aid.

She’s right up there with Martin Bashir and Alec Baldwin, except that no matter what Melissa Harris-Perry says she won’t be fired. Not male enough, not white enough.

Via the DC, an extended quote…

HARRIS-PERRY: “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years. And like it or not, it’s indelibly printed in the pages of American history. A word that was originally intended as a derogatory term, meant to shame and divide and demean. The word was conceived of by a group of wealthy white men who needed a way to put themselves above and apart from a black man, to render him inferior and unequal and diminish his accomplishments.

“President Obama has been labelled with this word by his opponents, and at first he rose above it, hoping that if he could just make a cause for what he’d achieved, his opponents would fail in making their label stick. But no matter how many successes that he had as president, he realized there were still many people for whom he’d never be anything more than that one disparaging word — a belief he knew was held not just by his political opponents, but also by a significant portion of the American electorate.

“And so he decided if you can’t beat them, you’ve got to join them. So he embraced the word and made it his own, sending his opposition a message they weren’t expecting: ‘If that’s what you want me to be, I’ll be that.’

“Y’all know the word that I’m talking about. Obamacare! That’s right! I said it and I’m not ashamed, and neither is President Obama!”

It would have been nice if she’d managed not to use “y’all.” Doing that reminds us she’s a professor at Tulane.

Will Melissa Harris-Perry admit to any policy disagreements someone might have with the president which are not based on the color of his skin? Could you be opposed to war with Libya and Syria and it have nothing to do with Obama’s race? Could you not wish to have the NSA rooting through your e-mails and race be irrelevant? Could you find it a matter of national honor that we not leave our diplomats and security personnel to die in Benghazi and not be racist as a result? Could you believe that selling guns to drug cartels is a singularly bad idea without being a racist?

And could you think socialized medicine is a bad idea without joining the Klan?

Apparently not. Apparently Melissa Harris-Perry is in the Karen Carter Peterson school. There must be a coven of sorts in New Orleans. Either that, or both of them are getting marching orders straight from the White House.
