John Bolton Endorses Bill Cassidy In LA Senate Race

Former US Ambassador John Bolton has endorsed Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) who is the Republican challenger to longtime Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA).

Bolton, via a press release, said Cassidy understands the “damage” that President Barack Obama and his friends in the Senate have caused to the country over the last couple of years.

“Bill has shown himself in Congress to be a leader and is respected by his peers,” Ambassador Bolton said. “He understands the importance of national security and the damage President Obama and his supportive Democrat senators have caused America. The U.S. and Louisiana need new leadership in the Senate, and Bill is the right person to lead that charge.”

Bolton will also make a PAC donation of $5,000 to Cassidy. Bolton’s Super PAC has raised a combined $4.5 million to date with over $3 million cash on hand.

Ambassador Bolton’s PAC has endorsed and made contributions to 18 candidates, including U.S. Senate candidates former Sen. Scott Brown (NH), Thom Tillis (NC), Ed Gillespie (VA), Rep. Tom Cotton (AR), Joni Ernst (IA), Terri Lynn Land (MI), and Leader Mitch McConnell (KY), along with U.S. House of Representatives candidates, Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-6), Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25), Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL-27), Carlos Curbelo (FL-26), Will Hurd (TX-23), Martha McSally (AZ-2), Barbara Comstock (VA-10), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL-16), former Rep. Robert Dold (IL-10), and Rep. Mike Pompeo (KA-4).
