They Got Pregnant Transgender People In Texas

They Got Pregnant Transgender People In Texas

How do I know that? Cuz I read a press release about how they can’t have an abortion anymore on account of that law they passed in Texas.

Here’s a piece from Salon, which is a lot like The Onion or National Report but doesn’t think it is…

Texas has some of the harshest abortion restrictions in the country, which make it financially and logistically unfeasible for millions of women to make safe, legal decisionsabout their reproductive health. But the restrictions don’t just impede women’s choices; they also make it impossible for many transgender Texans to access abortions as well.

The state’s pro-choice advocates are taking note, and are working together to ensure reproductive justice for all Texans, regardless of gender. In a first step to expanding advocacy, the nonprofit group Fund Texas Women has announced that it will go by a new name, effective immediately, in order to better represent the people it serves:

In order for our organization to provide quality abortion services, we have to make sure that everyone who needs help traveling for their abortion is able to get it. But with a name like Fund Texas Women, we were publicly excluding trans* people who needed to get an abortion but were not women.

We refuse to deny the existence and humanity of trans* people any longer.

Our board has unanimously voted to approve our new name, Fund Texas Choice. Its emphasis on abortion, not on “women,” makes it a more just alternative.

Oh, and the last line: “Thank you for supporting us though the transition.”

Well, yeah.

Maybe they got better science in Texas than the rest of us got and they can figure out how to make a dude who looks like a lady preggo.

Or maybe the Fund Texas Kinda-Sorta-Women people couldn’t find their ass with a map, much less their hoo-has.

Rod Dreher saw this, and he kinda snickered at it. If nothin’ else, maybe Tea Party of Louisiana’s off the hook

So this is why the crackpots at the Tea Party Of Louisiana believed that Common Core turns people gay. The world is so damn crazy these days that anything is possible. Like a man who needs an abortion. Coming next: a feminist charity dedicated to providing bicycles to fish.

Actually, that’s a fishist statement. I dunno about y’all, but I’m sure offended.
