President Obama simply recited a left-wing laundry list of things which have no chance of passage, and therefore rendered himself completely irrelevant. There is no reason to go into detail on any of those items; none of them will amount to actual legislation or policy.

He also threatened vetoes on all of the major priorities of Congress – Keystone XL Pipeline, executive amnesty, Iranian sanctions, Dodd-Frank and Obamacare – making himself the primary obstacle to reform in Washington. It was Harry Reid, now Harry Reid is toothless. Now it’s Obama.

So there is no point to go through the speech and deconstruct it. I refuse to do so. Nothing of value will come either of this speech or this year in Washington from a legislative standpoint, and nothing of value will be done policy-wise until this man is gone from the White House and replaced with someone not of his party.

So if you’re looking for in-depth analysis of the State of the Union speech, you’ve come to the wrong place. We won’t even dignify calls for free day care and free community college with a response.
