The American left has launched a cultural jihad against the country and its history. Its first targets were the Confederate flag, then they turned their attention to Confederate monuments, and now they’re attacking former U.S. presidents who failed by today’s moral standards.

The left’s two newest victims are Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson. The Democrat Party hosts an annual fundraising dinner called the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, named after the two men who founded the modern Democrat Party. In recent years, the Democrat Party has been downplaying both men by calling it “The JJ Dinner.”

Now Connecticut Democrats have gone even further and are scrubbing the names of Jefferson and Jackson from the dinner.

Under pressure from the NAACP, the state Democratic Party will scrub the names of the two presidents from its annual fundraising dinner because of their ties to slavery.

Party leaders voted unanimously Wednesday night in Hartford to rename the Jefferson Jackson Bailey dinner in the aftermath of last month’s fatal shooting of nine worshipers at a historic black church in Charleston, S.C.

The decision is believed to be unprecedented and could prompt Democrats in other states with similarly named events to follow suit.

“I see it as the right thing to do,” Nick Balletto, the party’s first-year chairman, told Hearst Connecticut Media on Wednesday night.

“I wasn’t looking to be a trailblazer or set off a trend that’s going to affect the rest of the country. Hopefully, they’ll follow suit when they see it’s the right thing to do.”

Democrats cited Jefferson and Jackson’s ownership of slaves as a key factor in the decision, as well as Jackson’s role in the removal of Native Americans from the southeastern U.S. in what was known as the Trail of Tears.

The Democrat Party really doesn’t have much of a history to be proud of. Not only were they founded by slave holders, they fought to preserve slavery. Many Democrats formed the Confederate States of America in order to preserve the “peculiar institution.” After the Civil War, the Democrats formed the Ku Klux Klan in order to intimidate freed blacks and Republicans.

The 20th century doesn’t bring much history to be proud of either. The racist Woodrow Wilson involved America in an unnecessary war, World War I, and used dictatorial powers against his political opposition. Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal was inspired by Italian Fascism. Harry Truman involved the U.S. in a no-win war in Korea. Southern Democrats brought back the Confederate battle flag as a symbol of white supremacy and resistance against integration and the civil rights movement. John F. Kennedy and LBJ brought us the Vietnam War and Jimmy Carter brought us malaise and decline. Finally, Bill Clinton was a scumbag.

Since the modern Democrat Party doesn’t have much of a history to build on, they have to build on their present. Their present is that they’re a party of incompetents and crooks. Here are some suggestions for the new name for their fundraising dinner:
