Fred Thompson, lawyer, actor, Senator and 2008 presidential candidate, died over the weekend. He was 73.

Fred was one of the best of us. He was a man of many talents, resolute principle, boundless goodwill and remarkable spirit. He led a life most of us can only dream of, and he’s survived by a grateful nation.
