Louisiana State Police Arrest Illegal Immigrants For Running Brothel In New Orleans

The “doing jobs Americans won’t do” jokes just write themselves in this story.

A couple of illegal immigrants, Roxana Flores-Rodriguez from El Salvador and Jose Jaimes-Meza from Mexico, were arrested for running a brothel, among other things. LSP, detectives from Jefferson and Orleans Parishes, and the Department of Homeland Security surveilled the brothel for about a year before they closed it down.

From WWL:

The investigation began in August, 2015. According to LSP, detectives recieved information from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office related to narcotics distribution coming from 2523 N. Claiborne Avenue. As the investigation continued, detectives and Homeland Security Investigations Agents found that Rodriguez and Meza were operating a brothel and unlicensed bar at that address.

A search of the building took place in August 2015 where police located one sex worker and found evidence showing the brothel had been operating since May 2015, according to LSP.

Detectives believe that at least 10 more sex workers were rotated in and out of the brothel since that time.

A year later, on Sept. 3, 2016, arrest warrants were issued for Rodriguez and Mezza in Orleans Parish. Those warrants were executed on Sept. 6, resulting in both suspect’s arrests.

Rodriguez, from El-Salvador, and Meza, from Mexico, are both charged with Promoting Prostitution, Pandering, Money Laundering and Operation of Places of Prostitution. They were booked into the Orleans Parish jail.

If everyone was consenting and everyone was here legally, this wouldn’t be much of an issue. Prostitution crackdowns are not something I would make a high priority unless white slavery was involved.

It’s clear that the New Orleans area has a problem with illegal immigrants endangering public safety whether by committing crimes or killing people on the highway.  It’s not as much of problem as the homegrown criminals, but it is a problem nonetheless that needs to be dealt with.
