Boustany Just Endorsed Kennedy For The Senate

Just over the transom is this quote from a press release…

“Republicans who care about the future of our country need a Republican in the Senate who will work with Donald Trump to roll back the failed liberal policies of President Obama. I endorse John Kennedy and urge all my supporters to cast their vote for him.”

So that means John Kennedy has more or less the whole state Republican Party lined up on his side. David Vitter and Bill Cassidy have both endorsed him, so have Boustany and John Fleming, so have Billy Nungesser and Jeff Landry.

Boustany’s endorsement wasn’t the most flowing with praise for Kennedy, but that’s not a big surprise. It was Kennedy who offered up the Murder In The Bayou accusations to the effect that Boustany had a “hooker problem.” The congressman from Lafayette was not happy with those accusations, and he also didn’t like the attack ads the ESA Fund, a super PAC affiliated with Kennedy, ran against him.

But all of those things were just politics. Ideologically Boustany and Kennedy are fairly similar. And the rancor between the two is nothing compared to what’s going on across the aisle between Caroline Fayard and Foster Campbell even on a day the former endorsed the latter.
