Kenneth Polite Says No To NOLA Mayoral Run

Well, that’s too bad – the outgoing U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana would have likely been the best candidate in the race.

But in an interview with WDSU-TV in New Orleans, Polite said it’s not something he’s considering.

“I’m not considering that,” Polite said when asked about the mayor’s race by WDSU’s Traves Mackel. “I’m very proud of the speculation, but the reality is – I’ll never say never, but I’m going to take some time to really assess all the appropriate options.

“I can’t see that being something I will pursue.”

Polite also said in the interview that people always look to government for solutions but they’re rarely found in the public sector.

Which makes him the best candidate possible for mayor of Louisiana’s most socialist city. No wonder he doesn’t want to run.

Here’s wishing Polite the most lucrative next job possible. New Orleans will have to do without him as a politician, but it has lots of those – and may God save the people of that city from the fruits of the mayor it does choose.
