The “Take ‘Em Down” Bunch In NOLA Wants The Confederate Statutes To Come Down In Daytime

The radicals at “Take ‘Em Down” want a riot it seems. They want the statutes to come down with a big party and during the daytime.

From The Advocate:

Activists pushing for the removal of Confederate monuments in New Orleans want city officials to take them down in broad daylight with a public celebration.

Responding to rumors that Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s administration might act unexpectedly under cover of darkness, the group Take ‘Em Down NOLA held a news conference Monday morning and urged officials to schedule the removals publicly and during the day.

Malcolm Suber, one of the group’s main organizers, said removing the statues in secret would be “cowardly.”

Asked about security concerns, he said, “What do they have a police force for?”

There are reasons why the statutes would be taken down at nighttime. It would prevent crowds from congregating at the sites. It would also reduce the likelihood of violence.

But Malcolm Suber doesn’t care about things like a peaceful city. He wants a clash so he can claim that racism is rife in New Orleans. The only way to combat this violent, rampant racism is to demolish more statutes and rename streets.
