From a press release we just received, it sounds like Bill Cassidy’s staffers are in for a headache this afternoon…
FRIDAY: Sit-Ins at In-State Senate Offices Urge GOP Senators to Vote No on Health Care Repeal
Sit-In Protesters to Occupy Senate Offices in Metairie, Portland, Reno, Cleveland, Anchorage, Little Rock, Denver, and Bangor Demanding ‘No’ Vote on Health Care Repeal
UltraViolet Says Trumpcare Hurts Women, Urges Senators Cassidy, Collins, Heller, Portman, Murkowski, Cotton, and Gardner to Oppose ACA Repeal
On Friday, June 16th, members of the women’s group UltraViolet will be staging sit-ins at in-state Senate offices in Metairie, Portland, Reno, Cleveland, Anchorage, Little Rock, Bangor, and Denver, demanding a ‘no’ vote from Senators on the Affordable Care Act repeal.
The protesters who plan to occupy the offices of Senator Bill Cassidy, Senator Susan Collins, Senator Dean Heller, Senator Rob Portman, Senator Lisa Murkowski, Senator Tom Cotton, and Senator Cory Gardner’s offices—argue that the Republican health care plan would be catastrophic for Americans – kicking more than 23 million people off of their health insurance, making it harder for people with pre-existing conditions to get coverage, and undermining the health of women across the country.
The actions come as Republicans announced they will vote on a bill in the Senate to repeal the Affordable Care Act by the end of June after passing the bill in the House last month.
To do this not two days after a leftist radical tried to assassinate the House Majority Whip and some 20 of his colleagues is fairly unconscionable, wouldn’t you say?

We’d never heard of Ultraviolet, but this is what we found at their website…
UltraViolet is a powerful and rapidly growing community of people mobilized to fight sexism and create a more inclusive world that accurately represents all women, from politics and government to media and pop culture.
We work on a range of issues—reproductive rights, healthcare, economic security, violence, and racial justice — and we center the voices of all women, especially women of color, immigrants, and LGBTQ women. UltraViolet exists to create a cost for sexism and to achieve full equity for all women through culture and policy change.
We fight attacks against women and work toward a proactive vision of what equality looks like for women. We demand accountability from individuals, the media, and institutions that perpetuate sexist narratives or seek to limit the rights, safety, and economic security of women.
We leverage culture, politics, the news, and our rapid-response model to mobilize millions of people, quickly.
We founded UltraViolet five years ago on the principle that with a combination of organizing, technology, creative campaigning, and people power, we can win. Ultraviolet leads creative, breakthrough campaigns that have won victories from politics to culture. We’ve never backed down from a fight, and our members have never been more energized and active than they are today.
In other words, this is the pussy-hat mob that nobody ought to give much respect to. Pure astroturf, and nonstop attempts to gin up angry losers to cause trouble. The head of this outfit is someone named Nita Choudhary, who used to be a political stooge for MoveOn.
That they would attempt to take over Senators’ offices isn’t new, and there is little doubt this was planned for more than a couple of days. But after the attempted massacre of Scalise and the others, wouldn’t you expect a little bit of a cooling off period? Isn’t that what decent people would do?
Hopefully nobody actually shows up at Cassidy’s Metairie office. If somebody does, hopefully the cops come and peacefully remove them. We’ve seen enough angry leftists about for one week.
