…is this Brett Kimberlin business.

In case our readers aren’t aware of who this guy is, he’s extremely bad news. Kimberlin, a marijuana dealer, was convicted of planting eight bombs in six days in Speedway, Indiana, in 1978 and served 17 years in federal prison for that. Among the effects of the bombs (from Kimberlin v. White, 7 F.3d 527 (6th Cir. 1993))…

In the worst incident, Kimberlin placed one of his bombs in a gym bag, and left it in a parking lot outside Speedway High School. CarlDeLong was leaving the high school football game with his wife when he attempted to pick up the bag and it exploded. The blast tore off his lower right leg and two fingers, and embedded bomb fragments in his wife’s leg. He was hospitalized for six weeks, during which he was forced to undergo nine operations to complete the amputation of his leg, reattach two fingers, repair damage to his inner ear, and remove bomb fragments from his stomach, chest, and arm. In February 1983, he committed suicide.

But Kimberlin has been out of jail for quite a while at this point. Not that he’s improved his behavior a whole lot, mind you. The Blaze details what he’s currently up to…

Drug dealer, alleged child molester, and convicted perjurer, forger and Indiana Speedway Bomber (who is also believed to have played a role in the assassination of a grandmother), Brett Kimberlin spent 17 years in prison before his ultimate re-absorption into American society

He started a non-profit dubbed “Justice Through Music (JTM)” that has, since at least 2005, been funded by George Soros’ Tides Foundation and Barbara Streisand among other leftists

Along with his associate, Kimberlin also started an organization called “Velvet Revolution” that supports the Occupy movement

JTM’s goal is to use music to foster “social justice” and fight Republican “voter fraud” (like the kind George Bush allegedly used to “steal” the Florida election)

Any blogger — conservative and liberal alike — who has written the truth about Kimberlin has come under vicious attack by either Kimberlin or his minions, suffering death threats (veiled and unveiled), multiple lawsuits, loss of jobs and worse

He has filed over 100 frivolous lawsuits against anything that isn’t nailed down and somehow is being allowed to continue unchecked

This story has never been reported on in the mainstream media

Two of Kimberlin’s victims in particular have stories to tell, and both of them have blogged at Patterico.com, a Los Angeles-based conservative site we visit daily.

Patterico’s proprietor is Patrick Frey, an assistant district attorney in Los Angeles. Here’s his tale of dealing with Kimberlin…

At 12:35 a.m. on July 1, 2011, sheriff’s deputies pounded on my front door and rang my doorbell. They shouted for me to open the door and come out with my hands up.

When I opened the door, deputies pointed guns at me and ordered me to put my hands in the air. I had a cell phone in my hand. Fortunately, they did not mistake it for a gun.

They ordered me to turn around and put my hands behind my back. They handcuffed me. They shouted questions at me: IS THERE ANYONE ELSE IN THE HOUSE? and WHERE ARE THEY? and ARE THEY ALIVE?

I told them: Yes, my wife and my children are in the house. They’re upstairs in their bedrooms, sleeping. Of course they’re alive.

Deputies led me down the street to a patrol car parked about 2-3 houses away. At least one neighbor was watching out of her window as I was placed, handcuffed, in the back of the patrol car. I saw numerous patrol cars on my quiet street. There was a police helicopter flying overhead, shining a spotlight down on us as I walked towards the patrol car. Several neighbors later told us the helicopter woke them up. I saw a fire engine and an ambulance. A neighbor later told me they had a HazMat vehicle out on the street as well.

Meanwhile, police rushed into my home. They woke up my wife, led her downstairs and to the front porch, frisked her, and asked her where the children were. Then police ordered her to stand on the front porch with her hands against the wall while they entered my children’s bedrooms to make sure they were alive.

The call that sent deputies to my home was a hoax. Someone had pretended to be me. They called the police to say I had shot my wife. The sheriff’s deputies who arrived at my front door believed they were about to confront an armed man who had just shot his wife. I don’t blame the police for any of their actions. But I blame the person who made the call.

Because I could have been killed.

The weirdest part of the whole thing was that I halfway expected this might happen. Because I was not the first one it had happened to.

I think it’s about time you heard the call that sent police to my home.

Frey is convinced Kimberlin is responsible. Here’s why…

I met personally with the nationwide experts on swatting in December 2011: the FBI office in Dallas, Texas. They told me that swatting is an extreme form of harassment — and that swatters typically combine swatting with other forms of harassment, including: complaining to the victim’s workplace, defaming the victim online, “Googlebombing” the victim, publishing the victim’s address online, filing phony reports of criminal activity by the victim, and so forth.

All of these things have happened to me and other critics of Brett Kimberlin since July 2011. The harassment has been relentless and has occurred almost every day. It would literally take a book to catalogue it all. What you read in this post, incredibly, is only part of it.

Why target me? Well, I first wrote about Brett Kimberlin in October 2010, after getting a call from Andrew Breitbart. Andrew told me that his site was going to publish a post about a domestic terrorist named Brett Kimberlin. The story sounded interesting, and I published a post about Kimberlin shortly after the Breitbart post (penned by Mandy Nagy aka Liberty Chick) was published.

The next day, Kimberlin threatened to sue me. He said: “I have filed over a hundred lawsuits and another one will be no sweat for me. On the other hand, it will cost you a lot of time and money and for what.” I asked him to identify any specific falsehoods in my post and he did not. I published subsequent posts about topics like Kimberlin’s alleged murderous plots to escape from prison and exact revenge on his enemies and an examination of his non-profits’ tax returns. In February 2011, I talked about stalkerish intimidation tactics used by Kimberlin and his business partner, Brad Friedman of the “Brad Blog.”

It’s fair to say I have been one of Brett Kimberlin’s least favorite people in the world for a good long time now.

THE RELENTLESS AND VICIOUS HARASSMENT OF CRITICS OF BRETT KIMBERLIN, BY KIMBERLIN AND HIS SUPPORTERS

Beginning about the time I was swatted in July 2011, the harassment I had already experienced from Kimberlin was stepped up several notches — and other Kimberlin critics were also targeted. Several anonymous accounts identifying themselves as supporters of Kimberlin’s have participated in the harassment. These anonymous harassers go by names like @OccupyRebellion, @BreitbartUnmask, Gaped Crusader, and “Just Call Me Lefty.”

But much of the harassment Kimberlin critics have experienced has occurred at the hands of three named individuals: Ron Brynaert, Neal Rauhauser, and Brett Kimberlin.

And here’s Frey’s experience with the threesome…

Meet Ron Brynaert

Ron Brynaert is a so-called “journalist” who last August threatened me and my wife in the most despicable manner possible:

References to my wife come completely out of left field. She is a Democrat and cancels out my vote in every election. The only reason anyone would bring her up online is to intimidate and harass my family.

Brynaert explicitly connected his desire to do violence to me to his defense of Brett Kimberlin. The night he threatened me and my wife, Brynaert defended Kimberlin in a long series of tweets pointing out alleged holes in the case against Kimberlin. Brynaert said I was slandering Kimberlin:

One of Brynaert’s arguments was that certain of the witnesses against Kimberlin had been hypnotized. Apparently, it greatly upset Brynaert that I wasn’t responding to this argument, and he threatened violence as a result:

Behind Door #2…

Meet Neal Rauhauser

Neal Rauhauser is a creepy far-left activist. There is evidence that, using the handle “Iowa Boy,” Rauhauser has engaged in violent rhetoric, including calling for the public hanging of Republicans and the shooting of Dick Cheney. Rauhauser speaks regularly of the hacking group Anonymous and frequently suggests that his enemies are opening themselves up to Internet harassment.

Above: Writing at Daily Kos, Rauhauser suggests I should be harassed online.
Three days after I was swatted, Rauhauser wrote a post titled “Patterico’s Penalization” that made bizarre accusations about me, and accused me of working with a “cyberstalker” named Seth Allen — a blogger who had criticized Brett Kimberlin so tenaciously that Kimberlin (frivolously) sued Allen for defamation. In that post, Rauhauser publicized a State Bar complaint that Kimberlin had filed against me, and asked readers to get a picture of my wife. Rauhauser also suggested that a private detective stake out Seth Allen’s apartment:

Here is Rauhauser further publicizing Brett Kimberlin’s State Bar complaint against me, and stating his belief that if enough such complaints accumulate, I will be fired:

And here is Rauhauser talking about how he wants to see me fired, prosecuted, and bankrupted — all for purely political reasons:

Rauhauser is a fan of abusive litigation for purposes of political harassment:

Patterico managed to get an audio clip of Brynaert to compare with that fake 9/11 call that led the police into his house “heavy” in the middle of the night…

You’d think arrests would be made, but of course nothing has happened despite Frey’s status as a prosecutor. The FBI, he says, simply won’t move on the case.

But Frey isn’t the only Patterico contributor who has felt the wrath of Kimberlin. Aaron Walker, who posted at the site under the pseudonym Aaron Worthing, found himself enmeshed in potentially an even worse situation – he and his wife both lost their jobs as a result of Kimberlin’s harrassment.

Walker, a Virginia lawyer, helped out a blogger named Seth Allen who was being sued by Kimberlin in Maryland with some legal advice. Kimberlin then went after Walker, filing motions to get his name and address into the public domain so that his associates could do to him what they did to Frey.

The story goes on from there – Kimberlin managed to get Walker into a courtroom, and as they were walking out of court he used an iPad to take Walker’s picture, upon which Walker took the iPad away from him. That’s when Kimberlin pressed charges against Walker for assault, claimed he’d been “decked” and lost sight in one eye, and a host of other patent falsehoods.

The case is still grinding through the judicial system.

Frey and Walker aren’t alone. Robert Stacy McCain, another prominent conservative blogger, has been the subject of similar harrassment for having written about the Kimberlin story – to such an extent that he and his family have now vacated their home and he’s gone underground.

We don’t think Lamar White, who has engaged in a politically-motivated spate of libel against us, is a threat rising to the level of a Brett Kimberlin. White doesn’t, to our knowledge, have a violent or criminal past.

But the internet is a wild frontier in which truly scary individuals can run amok and cause a great deal of damage. And we’ve had run-ins already with undesirables on the Left – the Iron Rail Book Collective mob made some feeble attempts at Kimberlin-style harrassment here, though they’re not quite as talented as he is.

As such, it’s important for folks in our position to make sure it’s known we’ll defend ourselves. If White isn’t a Kimberlin or an Iron Rail nut, good. He seems to share some of the same philosophy, though, so we’ll be watching him and we won’t tolerate much of his misbehavior toward us before taking steps to stop it.

Because it’s clear there is a movement afoot on the Left to silence those they disagree with online. And White’s attempts to paint The Hayride as a haven for bigotry, incompetent and ineffective though they may be, dovetail with that movement. We won’t be silenced, as Frey, Walker and McCain won’t be silenced.

Today is Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day, and if you can make it to that link on Lee Stranahan’s clogged site you’ll be able to see more about what’s going on in the blogosphere. The idea is for so many bloggers to tell Kimberlin’s story that he’s unable to harrass all of them.

In a functional country with a functional government, the FBI and the Justice Department would be working to stop the kind of harrassment people like Kimberlin make a practice of (with the financial assistance of left-wing donors like George Soros and Barbara Streisand). But that’s not happening, so we’ve got to protect ourselves.

And we will.

We don’t spend a great deal of time looking at the state’s lefty blogs. Most of them are poorly-written, and those which aren’t contain moonbattery of the sort which doesn’t quite rate our ridicule. Every once in a blue moon you’ll see something on one of those sites worth reading and on the occasion of a solar eclipse or the Cubs making the World Series one of those guys will make a respectable point.

But it’s slim pickins.

It so happens, though, that while doing a Google search this morning for an old piece we wrote, I ran across this. It’s a post by a guy named Lamar White, who goes by CenLamar – the title of a relatively infrequent blog which is supposed to originate out of Alexandria but apparently doesn’t; we understand White is a law student in Dallas now.

In any event, at the bottom of a long post about the recent history of the state’s Democrat Party and how the fresh box of nuts in charge of it will bring about a renaissance to its fortunes was the following…

PS: Thanks to the vapid idiot who runs the website The Hayride for inspiring this post. You and your website contribute nothing of substance to our political discourse, nothing. If anything, considering your posts about the President not having a “drop of slave blood,” you are corrosive, and often, your website is nothing more than thinly-veiled bigotry. 1951 may be comfortable, but most of us prefer to live in 2012.

Gosh, that really hurts my feelings. I don’t know what I’ll do now that I’ve discovered I contribute nothing of substance to Louisiana’s political discourse.

Strange that the Washington Post thinks we’re one of the most influential state political blogs in the country, one of three in Louisiana which made the list. Turns out that Lamar’s little blog didn’t pull off that trick, which is too bad. Because he’s got so much to tell us about important issues like Bobby Jindal’s homophobia or how stupid Louisiana College is for not swallowing their Obamacare medicine, and all.

But I did get a little confused about being called a bigot, and the particular accusation about how we said Barack Obama doesn’t have a drop of slave blood. Because that doesn’t sound like anything I’d write. It also doesn’t sound like anything any of our regular contributors write, either. I’m pretty rough on the black community because it’s my position that the black community has allowed itself to fall victim to a destructive and inferior culture, and until it rejects that culture none of the social problems which plague that community will go away.

But that’s about culture, not about race, and there’s a difference. You can choose your culture. And in any event, blood has nothing to do with it.

So I decided to do a little search about that “drop of slave blood” quote. And guess what? The reason I didn’t recognize it is that nobody at the Hayride ever wrote it.

Shocking that this may be, poor Lamar was confusing this site with Louisiana Conservative, a site run by Jeff Blanco at which a post carrying the “slave blood” stuff appeared back in November of 2008. We didn’t start publishing The Hayride until December of 2009.

White castigated Blanco for that post here.

So here’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to get an apology from little Lamar and his rather unheralded little blog. We’re going to get it by the weekend, and we’re going to get it on his site.

If we don’t, we’ll just sue him for defamation. We won’t get any money out of him, because he doesn’t have any. Or at least we don’t think he does – if we’re wrong that’ll just be a nice bonus. But we’ll damn sure get it on the record that he’s defamed us and he’s lied about what we write here. And that’ll be satisfaction enough.

So what’s it going to be, Lamar? Are you going to man up and admit you don’t know what you’re talking about, or do we have to beat that out of you in court?

UPDATE: Well, what do you guys think of this?

Can’t say it’s impressive, but it’s hardly different from what we expected.

We could certainly sue him. Here’s what our lawyer, who happens to teach 1st Amendment law at LSU, had to say about this…

At the end of his post, “A New Day for the Louisiana Democratic Party,” Lamar White, Jr., posted the following: “PS: Thanks to the vapid idiot who runs the website The Hayride for inspiring this post. You and your website contribute nothing of substance to our political discourse, nothing. If anything, considering your posts about the President not having a “drop of slave blood,” you are corrosive, and often, your website is nothing more than thinly-veiled bigotry. 1951 may be comfortable, but most of us prefer to live in 2012.”

Interestingly, while these statements may all seem defamatory on their face, some of it may be protected opinion. In Louisiana, four elements are necessary to establish a claim for defamation: 1.) a false statement of and concerning the plaintiff (you), 2.) published to a third-party, 3.) fault (negligence for private figures, actual malice for public figures) and 4.) injury. This statements are clearly made of and concerning you, “who runs the website The Hayride” and published, to White’s audience, causing you injury. Whether you are a public or private figure is more complicated, although I believe we could succeed no matter your classification, but there is definitely a cause of action to be had for the following statement:

“Considering your posts about the President not having a “drop of slave blood,” you are corrosive…” This is a statement that is provably false, if you did not post such an assertion. Further, the language Mr. White used in building up to this statement makes it appear to be made with malice.

In this post he makes several other accusations against you, including calling you a “vapid idiot,” and saying your Web site “contribute[s] nothing of substance to our political discourse,” and that “your website is nothing more than thinly-veiled bigotry.” Under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, there is ”no such thing as a false idea.” Gertz v. Robert Welch. Therefore, statements must be proved false before they can be actionable (note the above element No. 1 in the libel test, “a false statement”). The U.S. Supreme Court has stated that while all opinions are not privileged from libel, the libel plaintiff must show that ”the challenged statement both (1) implies an assertion of fact and (2) is “sufficiently factual to be susceptible of being proved true or false.” Some of these opinions, like you being a bigot, for example, could be proved false, but others, like your Web site not contributing anything of substance, are probably just Mr. White’s opinion.

We’ll wait to see his retraction. It had better be an improvement on his tweet.

UPDATE #2: Apparently, he’s a night owl. We went on Twitter and told him his “I’m sorry” was insufficient, and what we got was this…

And then in response to somebody else engaging him on the issue he said this…

By the way, this was his “correction”…

Update: Correction: The Hayride did not publish the article titled “Not a Drop of Slave Blood;” LouisianaConservative.com did. I apologize to my readers for the mistake.

What’s most offensive here, and of course typical, is the intolerance and faux-elitism of airhead lefties like this one – in that if you offer a different philosophical opinion or fail to accept their feeble construct of reality, you’re a “bigot.” That, of course, is little Lamar’s term for what he really wants to say, which is “racist.” Enough actual reality has penetrated his skull for him to know he’s going to look laughable throwing that charge around recklessly, and probably it’ll make it even more likely he gets sued if he uses that word.

The problem is, there is no difference in this context whether he says we do racism here, or bigotry. What he’s trying to say is that we’re not allowed to depart from his ideological position without getting tarred for it. And he’s hiding behind saying “it’s my opinion.”

Well, OK. In my opinion, just looking at his picture, this guy could be a child molester.

See how this works? I didn’t REALLY call him a child molester, I said he looks like he could be one. And anyway it’s my opinion – I’m entitled to it. Besides, aren’t most felons Democrats? THAT I can back up with facts. He’s a Democrat, and he certainly looks sketchy enough, so you can draw your own conclusions.

What’s laughable here is the laziness. His initial justification for calling us bigots was a four-year-old article at another website, before we were even publishing here. We called him out for bungling the reference and thus having no facts to support his accusation. He then makes a “correction” on his website intended to inflame the situation, and then suggests that when we addressed this topic in our initial post by saying culture isn’t race and there’s a cultural problem in the black community – which is a statement such wild-eyed skinheads as Bill Cosby have consistently trumpeted as well, and oh-by-the-way some of the same cultural problems which have ravaged black America are doing the exact same thing to other ethnic communities in this country as well, which is why we’re saying it’s about culture rather than race – he latches onto that statement and calls it bigotry.

As if that will wash.

We’re not going to spend too much more time on this clown. We have lawyers for that. It’s clear we won’t get satisfaction otherwise, but that’s what we expected from the beginning.

“How you spell dumbass in French?” Cute line. Would have been smart to look that up beforehand and spell it for him – then say “I’m not sure Cowherd can spell it in English, either.”

The sentiment, however, is exactly right. What Cowherd said about New Orleans was painfully stupid. That city is one of the world’s best event destinations – Cowherd trashing the place says a lot more about the quality of and information behind his opinions than New Orleans’ suitability to host things like Final Fours and Super Bowls.

“The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones.”—from William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar.

It’s hard to know what good might be interred in the remains of Huey Long beneath his effigy on the grounds of the Louisiana Capitol, but the evil is pretty easy to spot.

It’s still making rounds at the Capitol Huey built and was gunned down in nearly eighty years ago and it’s still paying out big dividends to descendants of the Kingfish and his lackeys.

Visiting tourists who might take interest in Louisiana’s own Caesar needn’t bother looking for the bullet holes in the Capitol walls—they were filled in a few years back.

There isn’t really much of interest in the display case that sits in the hallway in which he was assassinated, either.

They would do better to ask lobbyist Ty Bromell for a copy of a document he recently distributed to lawmakers leading them to reject a resolution in a meeting of the House Judiciary Committee.

The fact-sheets—devoid of many facts—are a testament that even though Long is long dead, the political corruption he cultivated while plodding the gumbo mud of Louisiana is alive and well.

It might well be immortal.

The resolution shares Huey’s fate, both being killed in cold blood at the Capitol. If it would have lived it might have meant an investigation of oil leases from the Long-era that continue to direct royalty money—hundreds of millions of dollars over the years—from Louisiana coffers to a corporation started in 1934.

With all that money at stake, it was a prime candidate for assassination and had to be taken out.

The Win or Lose Oil Corporation went out of business in 1951, but as much as $881 million has gushed into bank accounts of the well-connected from a single oil lease, thanks to shenanigans hatched in Baton Rouge over 70 years ago that Huey’s political predecessors perpetuate to this day.

Huey was a U.S. Senator with his eyes set on the presidency when he, Gov. O.K. Allen, later governor but then state Sen. James A. Noe and New Orleans businessman Seymour Weiss created Win or Lose.

After Long and Allen—dead of a brain hemorrhage a year after Huey’s death—were gone, Noe became governor and gave businessman W.T. Burton an oil lease, State Lease 340, for half-a-million acres off the Louisiana cost. It was later sold to Texaco.

Terms stipulated that the state would get 12.5 percent of the royalties(these are generally set today at 20 to 25 percent) and Burton got the rest, which was returned to Win or Lose in interest surrendered to the company.

The money from the lease granted by Noe ended up in his pocket and members of the Long and Allen family.

The tradition continues to this day, as the three families have reportedly been raking in cash from Lease 340 for generations. The lease was never given an expiration date, so the cash will keep a-gushin’ as long as the wells keep a-pumpin’.

The state has never tried to modify the contract and moves to look into the questionable practices that has piped hundreds of millions in royalty money from the public to the privileged few have been blunted through the efforts of people like Bromell.

Bromell, working on behalf of people he calls “friends,” was able to convince lawmakers that there is nothing to see here. He wasn’t paid to do so, but it’s always nice to have friends.

If he had been paid to lobby on his pals’ behalf, he would have to tell us who his buddies are. He didn’t so he doesn’t.

Again, nothing to see here.

Multiple lawsuits have been filed to no avail and attorney generals have nearly gone blind looking into the matter in vain to find a solitary flaw—according to Bromell’s handouts—but every thing is on the up-and-up. Move along.

Only that’s not the way it’s remembered by veteran newspaperman Bob Barton, a former state representative from Bossier City, who spent years investigating the oil lease.

From a Lee Zurik Fox 8 New Orleans piece:

He says the lobbyist’s information is not factually correct. Barton says many of the lawsuits referenced in the document never looked into the money going to descendants of the three former governors.

“I don’t know of anyone else who actually looked into it in an official capacity, in a public capacity,” Barton said.

Barton says he only knows of one legal opinion issued by someone with the state attorney general, the one we showed him where Edward Gay concluded in 1941 that the lease “was obtained through a conspiracy to defraud the state of Louisiana.”

Well, it’s always good to keep the corruption in the family, as Zurik points out:

State Senator Gary Smith from St. Charles Parish has been busy in Baton Rouge, trying to balance the budget. But sources say he found time to urge his colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee to vote down the House resolution related to the oil leases.

Sen. Smith happens to be married to Huey Long’s great granddaughter — that would make her former Senator Russell Long’s granddaughter. Remember, while alive, Russell Long made more than $600,000 a year off Win or Lose oil and gas royalties.

Not mentioned in this article is that back in February Gov. Bobby Jindal appointed Jack Lawton to the LSU board. Lawson is a descendant of Burton —the guy that the oil lease was created for way back in 1936.

Amazing isn’t it. After all these years those connected to Win or Lose are still winning and the rest of us are still losing. Thanks, Huey.

The Internet’s ablaze with a North Carolina school teacher’s berating a student not accepting her deification of Beaurat Obama. It was captured on audio and allegedly on videotape. She’s a Social Studies teacher. Her political position is slanted to the point of creating a precipice over which her students may fall if they disagree with her.

I think she’s simply a bigoted person with a leash drive to influence student hostages to follow Beaurat Obama as the Political Pied Piper he is. The bigotry shows in her strident commentary and usage of either lies or the dominion of her monumental ignorance to bully students disagreeing with her.

Bigotry is defined in Wikipedia as: intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself. It needn’t involve racism. I’m not sure, but I thought teachers were supposed to “teach” what’s known on any given subject. They’re allowed to promote free thought and discussion concerning unproven theories and subjects open to conjecture.

They’re not permitted to DEMAND mindless compliance with their personal ideologies; then punish the students with derision, contempt, bullying tactics and diminished grades points affecting quantitative and qualitative appearances of the student’s school performance. Respectful discussion and debate are essential in the free world. Anything less, anything approaching reproach and humiliation for a personal opinion, borders on totalitarianism. To have this happen in the fertile ground of a teenager’s educable mind borders on immorality.

The kid’s challenge is wrong because he’s profane at times; BUT THE TEACHER MATCHES HIS IMPROPER LANGUAGE IN SEVERAL CASES! Who gave her permission to drop into a gutter to get her point across in a public classroom? The local populace pays her to maintain control of herself, her emotions and her classroom. They don’t pay her to campaign for Beaurat Obama. She doesn’t have the right to contradict parental controls and guidance in politics.

This is all the more egregious because the teacher doesn’t even have a command of her subject – Social Studies. “Social Studies” is a course of instruction comprising such subjects as history, civics, geography etc. This teacher shows a remarkable ignorance concerning the Constitution, Current Events, Political Science and coincidentally the ability to put forth any of these subjects to her students. She surely shows NO evidence of any ability to debate coherently. She’s a dictatorial screamer.

That’s a great teaching technique lady; yell at the student while making stupid statements and imparting incorrect information simply because you need to win the argument you started.

Slander as you referred to it is a civil offense allowing you to be sued. Rarely is it tried in court criminally. Nobody was jailed for speaking ill of George W. Bush. In some cases it was fun.

Lady; it’s not a criminal offense to call Beaurat Obama a fool. It’s opinion. It’s protected speech under the First Amendment. The kid’s allowed an opinion. The main difference is the kid can’t give you a failing grade after getting into it with you in class.

Lady; you’re an excellent example of the theory I’ve espoused for many years. That theory states: a diploma is NOT an indicator of intelligence or even the ingestion of large amounts of knowledge force-fed to people convinced higher education makes a more “well-rounded person”. There are too many hyper-educated, certified dumb-basses sporting elevated esteem because they possess diplomas.

Diplomas are no more than paper granted by some organization that accepted large amounts of money to quantify your credit hours in search of validation. Diplomas don’t show you’re smart. They show you have a diploma. For twenty bucks I can get a diploma from a Diploma Mill. It’ll mean as much as yours evidently.

Diplomas don’t quantify your value as a person. They indicate you may have been among the best in a field of mediocre dreams. The proof of your ability to perform is in how you fulfill your job description. It’s obvious you fall short. You deserve the suspension reported by Fox News (5-22-2012)

Teachers! LISTEN UP!

Your job is to instruct a specific curriculum. You may NOT force your values on students. Teach the subject; not the substance of your ignorance, bigotry and prejudice.

Thanks for listening.

Like what? He didn’t do it?

The Alabama fan accused of being the man seen on a video apparently committing sexual battery on an unconscious LSU fan after the BCS championship football game, has pleaded not guilty in Orleans Parish Criminal Court.

Thirty-two-year-old Brian H. Downing, of Smiths Station, Ala., was arraigned Monday on one count each of sexual battery of a male victim and obscenity.

A video that went viral on the Internet appeared to show someone in a University of Alabama jacket abusing an unconscious Louisiana State University fan after Alabama beat LSU for the BCS football championship on Jan. 9.

This guy Downing, and his attorney, are a trip.

After all, he’s on video rubbing his junk on that poor kid’s head.

Sure, plead not guilty. No reason not to. Might as well, right?

Here’s the question, though – what’s his defense? “Wasn’t me, boss?” “Wasn’t me, boss” didn’t work on his boss at Hibbett Sports, though – they took one look at that video and fired him on the spot.

Now he’s got no job, he’s an indicted criminal on sexual battery charges and it’s a matter of time before that chick in the bathtub with him in that wedding picture will be takin’ that young’un and bolting. Bet here is she’ll retreat to Orange Beach and look for one of those hairy redneck Sugar Daddy types who can make her forget about that no-good teabaggin’ ex of hers.

As for him? Betcha the attorney’s doin’ everything he can to get a plea deal. And betcha the New Orleans DA is sayin’ “Plea deal? Plea deal? Don’t talk about plea deal.”

As in, you’re on video. You’re cold-busted. And this town really wants us to convict somebody of something. A douchy white dude who acted the fool on a local on the worst possible night you could have done it? Lucky you don’t get lynched – you’re our huckleberry.

That means jail. That means if he thinks he was on the cuttin’ edge of funny stuff you can do to somebody with your package, just wait ’til he gets to serve out a sentence for sexual battery. He’s gonna learn a lot.

And then there’s the fact he gets to report himself as a sex-offender everywhere he goes for the rest of his life.

But on the other hand, he’s gonna be able to make money signin’ autographs at Bama fan gatherings for the rest of his life. So there is that. Only if he fesses up and says “Yeah, that was me” though.

Somewhere in the shadows of history is a column I wrote making a clear and understandable statement to high school graduates that success isn’t guaranteed; it must be worked for and fought for and appreciated for its fragility and lack of permanence if you fail to continue working and fighting to maintain it.

Because nothing in my mind has changed on that subject I address the future of all graduates.

Wake up tomorrow and recognize you’re in a new place in your life. It can be as pleasant or as miserable as you make it. Mom and Dad are not responsible for your actions, happiness or lifestyle anymore. You’re being thrust full force toward tomorrow and must know the only way to conquer it is to recognize its non-existence. That’s right: its non-existence.

You’ll have to live in the NOW of this world. You must make sure what you do has merit and bears relevance to what you’re doing at this time only. There’s no time in the real world for daydreaming, mooning over lost loves or placing survival in other’ hands. You’re responsible for yourself and your actions. You’ve become what you’ve wanted to be – adults.

Adults must remember the mistakes of yesterday, plan for the possibilities of tomorrow and live in the here and now of life. You establish priorities and work your way through them until you’ve earned success. Nobody rewards you for being “Most Popular” or “Most Likely to Succeed”. Accolades based on superficiality are worthless; they don’t earn a paycheck.

Keep faith with your employer. Give a full day’s work for a full day’s pay. Don’t fear giving more for less. Don’t curse an apparent wrong until you’ve understood its true wrongfulness. There may be more to the story than you know. Speak to your fellow man, not behind his back. Gossip hurts hearts, wounds souls and kills friendship. It’s alright to make mistakes. Learn to not repeat them.

Return to the basic tenets of human value. Recognize honesty and humility are valued qualities. Sincere attention paid to others without seeking reward is a virtue. The hard work and the sweat of your brow bring the blooms flower your life’s garden. It’ll be admired by those looking at it from the outside. You’ll feel the glow of accomplishment and see the benefit of good works.

Watch small children playing. Copy their laughter and smiles to warm your day. When other people less grounded would chill you with their coldness and lack of compassion, take those children’s joys and give them to your adversaries. It’ll make you feel better to share than to simply be a taker of trust.

Show kindness to those less fortunate than you. Keep faith with your higher power and know your questions have more value than self-serving answers not well thought out. Share your love with the elderly who’ve loved you unconditionally, as they hope to be loved. Shake the hand of somebody you don’t like and believe in the cordiality of your effort. The effects can amaze you.

Turn your face upward to the rain and don’t be too quick to wipe it from your face. Its cleanliness and freshness to your spirit is only found when you appreciate the presence of nature; and you’re a part of it. Jump in the puddles and splash around for the fun of it; you don’t have to be old if you don’t want to be. Ignore jealousy and hatred. They’re a waste of energy and a denial of all that is good within the person. Keep confidence with friends and don’t betray the trust placed in you.

When you have kids, teach them, as you’d wish to be taught. With compassion and love, you build new worlds of hope. Be strong when they’re weak and accept the fact sometimes, in their innocence, they’re right. Give hugs and kisses instead of bribes and cajoling for good behavior and see good citizenship blossom. Make the rules and stick to them; for them and yourself. Cherish their sleeping hours, quiet times and love them in their rambunctious ways. Give love without condition or contract; be free with it like chocolate sprinkles on white frosting. You can’t really have too much of either.

Always seek to be the one they trust when the world will hurt them. Give shelter when necessary, but place no wall before them when it is time for them to venture out again. Remember, when you shield them from the darkness you may also keep them from the light. Let them move toward the light of their new knowledge and appreciate their efforts to know it better. Teach them truth; accept no lies or deceptions. Correctness should be your path and the one your kids must learn to walk safely and with honor. It’s the trust you hand on to the generations that follow.
In closing, always know that we love you and wish you only the best of everything. We trust you’ll leave yours with better than we have left you. At least that’s what we hope.

Good Luck.

Thanks for Listening.
