Is Recreational Fishing Obama’s Next Targeted Villain?

Posted on March 9th, 2010 by macaoidh

This one is so off-the-wall stupid we’re struggling to believe it’s even possible. But apparently it’s legitimate – the Obama administration could be on the verge of imposing a ban of some sort on recreational fishing.
That’s correct. Fishing.

Scalise, Fleming, La. House To Waxman, Markey: Go Away And Leave Us Alone

Posted on March 8th, 2010 by macaoidh

While the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce awaits responses to letters it sent to natural gas producers as a precursor to hearings later this month on whether federal regulation is warranted on hydraulic fracturing, Louisiana’s congressional delegation and state legislators are taking a very vigorous and aggressive stance in fighting Washington’s attempts to [...]

Relax And Take A Deep Breath

Posted on March 5th, 2010 by dan juneau

When things get overwhelming, we often seek to get back to the basics and simplify. This is a particularly good idea in the midst of the current climate change/global warming debate. For most of us, it’s been a very long time since we sat in a science class. Perhaps a refresher course [...]

Cap and Trade by any other name…

Posted on March 4th, 2010 by Michael Youngblood

… still stinks.                                      (Hat tip – National Review Online)

Cap and trade is dead.  The legislation to regulate and curb “greenhouse gas” emissions, primarily CO2, has lost its fervor since the science of anthropogenic global warming, the legislation’s foundation, has lost its credibility.  But Sen. Lindsey Graham (r-SC), along with Senators John Kerry (D-MA) and Liebermann [...]

New Allies in the Natural Gas War

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by Michael Youngblood

America needs to capitalize on her abundance of natural gas.  That subject has been examined numerous times at this site and elsewhere.  It can heat our homes, power our industries, generate our electricity, and fuel our vehicles.  It can create jobs that fuel our economy, and it can completely change the world’s political climate.

We import [...]

Message To Obama, Landrieu: Focus On The Economy

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by Jeff Crouere

Despite hype from the Democrats in Congress, President Obama and the national news media about a supposed economic recovery, Americans understand that our economy is in shambles. A new report shows that consumer confidence is now dropping once more after a slight increase in the last few months. The official consumer confidence index fell in [...]

Democrat Assault on Fracking Begins

Posted on February 19th, 2010 by macaoidh

It’s not a surprise, as we’ve repeatedly warned that it was coming, but yesterday the House Energy and Commerce Committee sent letters to eight natural gas producers questioning them about the chemicals they use in their “drilling mud” while engaging in the practice of hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking” – a 50-year old procedure which combined [...]
