Have We Seen The Last Of The Unhinged-Lefty Iraq Movies?

Posted on March 15th, 2010 by macaoidh

It seems the weekend take from Matt Damon’s new Bush-Lied-People-Died Iraq vehicle Green Zone was just $14.5 million. That’s not a particularly good number for Universal Pictures, which budgeted $130 million for production and sunk another $100 million for distribution on top of that.
Studio executives tell Time Magazine, whose film critic thought Green Zone was [...]

On This Tom Hanks Business…

Posted on March 13th, 2010 by macaoidh

As a history buff, I’m really looking forward to the premiere of the new HBO series The Pacific, which takes place on Sunday. I understand from friends who have had a chance to see an advanced screening of it that it’s sensational – even better, in fact, than Band of Brothers, which so far is [...]

According to this article at the Baton Rouge Advocate today, cap and trade will be good for Louisiana.

I don’t think so.

Eric Massa Throws Bombs At Dem Leadership; May Not Be Resigning After All (Updated)

Posted on March 8th, 2010 by macaoidh

New York Democrat congressman Eric Massa, whom Geraldo Rivera referred to as “the gay upstate guy” on Fox News over the weekend, has come out with guns blazing after last week stating that he would resign following allegations that he sexually harrassed a male staffer. Massa is now saying that he was railroaded and he’s [...]

Mark Twain Defends the Media

Posted on March 8th, 2010 by Michael Youngblood

In the Baton Rouge Advocate this morning one will find an op-ed piece discussing Mark Twain’s opinion of newspapers.  This piece announces a new collection of Twain’s works never before published in book form – thus a welcome addition to America’s body of literature.

Not having had the opportunity to review the new book, this writer [...]

McCain Camp Stirs 2008 Memories In Response To Hayworth Ad

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by macaoidh

Late last week, U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Hayworth, who is challenging five-term incumbent and failed 2008 presidential candidate John McCain for the Republican nomination in McCain’s Arizona senate seat, ran an online ad spoofing his opponent as a fake conservative. The response was predictable, and indicative of the sluggish nature of the “maverick” senator’s approach [...]

New Media A Key Element In Reagan Legacy

Posted on March 4th, 2010 by Mark Zelden

Howard Wolfson, a very savvy Democrat political operative, was recently quoted as frustrated that the ability to blame all of our current economic troubles on George W. Bush is not working for President Obama. He noted that his party was able to run against Republican Herbert Hoover’s Depression-era presidency for 30 years.
“That doesn’t seem to [...]

Kudlow, Collier Score With Defenses Of Gridlock

Posted on February 22nd, 2010 by macaoidh

The favorite line being pushed out across the land – a line bound for increased prominence now that we’re about to have yet another trillion-dollar version of Obamacare to torment the American people with - is that the Republicans are the Party Of No, that the reason the American people are upset with the president is [...]

Bill O’Reilly Isn’t Big On The 2nd Amendment

Posted on February 18th, 2010 by macaoidh

Tonight on Fox News’ O’Reilly Factor, host Bill O’Reilly had as a guest Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oathkeepers movement, and attempted to portray Rhodes – a disabled veteran and constitutional scholar, as a lunatic. Rhodes, whose organization stresses to law enforcement and military personnel that they’re bound by the Constitution, mentioned as an [...]
