The liberal media loves to present a false narrative. First it was that the Democrats were going to come out en force on Primary Election Day in Texas. That didn’t happen. There was going to be a big blue wave flooding Texas to turn the state blue. That didn’t happen. Texas didn’t even turn a shade of purple. It’s still red.
Now the media is praising Republican Sen. Ted Cruz’s opponent Democratic Congressman Beto O’Rourke for raising $6.7 million last quarter. The only thing remarkable about this is the fact that people are foolish enough to give money to a candidate who has no chance of winning.
The Texas Senate race is getting national attention for two reasons. First, the Dallas News notes that O’Rourke’s quarterly tally “sets a Texas record for a Senate race dating back at least to 1976.” The amount he raised in the first three months of 2018 “is more than any Texan has raised in a single reporting period for a U.S. Senate contest in at least three decades, if not in history,” it reports.
Second, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, the Cruz-O’Rourke race has the second largest amount of candidate fundraising of all of the 2018 Senate races — around $26.3 million. It ranks first in campaign spending, with more than $16 million spent so far already.
The O’Rourke campaign released its first quarter financials revealing an nearly triple increase from the last quarter in 2017 of $2.4 million. O’Rourke told The Dallas Morning News, “It’s clearly a sign of how badly Texans want change and want this country … on the right course.”
New reports reveal that roughly 141,000 individuals contributed to O’Rourke’s campaign; 70 percent are from Texas. But what they aren’t reporting is questioning why so many people are throwing away millions of dollars on a candidate who will lose.
Wouldn’t their donations be better spent on helping Hurricane Harvey survivors?
Texas can use that $6.7 million. O’Rourke is wasting good money on a race he knows he can’t win. Why? To evidence how liberals waste money?
Texans want border security. And, they aren’t going to give up their guns. O’Rourke represents the opposite of this. He’s referred to building the border wall to building the Berlin Wall. And, he’s in favor of stripping gun rights from law abiding citizens.
There is just no way that O’Rourke can beat this:
