Finally, someone in Congress did the right thing. Congressman Andy Biggs from Arizona , slapped Rep. Maxine Waters with a measure of censure and a call to resign.
But, why did it take so long for someone to do this?
In recent weeks Waters’ behavior has become even more bizarre — and dangerous. She– as a black woman– argued that restaurants and public places shouldn’t allow Trump supporters a place to eat or sit or move safely. Sound like Jim Crow? It is. Just in the reverse.
At a rally in Los Angeles she declared:
“If you think we’re rallying now, you ain’t seen nothing yet. If you see anybody from that [Trump] Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
Unfortunately, her incitement to bigotry and violence has been heeded. A Red Hen restaurant owner asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders, White House press secretary, to leave — and then reportedly followed her family to a different location, harassing them there.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was booed by anti-Trumpers at a Mexican restaurant, and taunted by other anti-Trumpers outside her home. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s wife was bombarded outside of her home.
More recently, “Increasing threats to Homeland Security include burned animal carcass left on staffer’s porch,” one news headline reads, and protestors blocked entrances to ICE headquarters. The insanity continues.
Democrats are truly the party of division, dissension, disillusionment, dishonesty, and death.
