Entergy paid actors case at center of Thursday court hearing [video]

Did Entergy violate New Orleans’ Open Cities Law by using paid actors? At a court hearing today to move forward with the lawsuit, Judge Griffin stated that she read the sworn affidavits presented to the court, and that they were “conflicting.”

Complainants argue that an Entergy meeting in February about a proposed pipeline, many of the members of the public were¬†denied the opportunity o speak. And, 70 people did not have a chance to attend meetings because they allege Entergy wouldn’t let them in. They noticed that Entergy hired actors to attend the meeting instead.

According to WWLTV, the city argued that even actors have a right to attend meetings.
