Pollster Lee Miringoff told Hill.TV that “Never-Trump” Republicans are extinct.
“The ‘Never Trumpers’ have vanished in the Republican Party. They’re extinct,” Miringoff, the head of the Marist Poll, told Hill.TV’s Joe Concha on “What America’s Thinking.”
“Never Trump” Republicans like Bill Kristol, Ana Navarro, and David Brooks still appear on television programs making anti-Trump comments. But they are out of touch with the large majority of Republicans who like Trump.
According to a recent Gallup poll, Trump has a high approval rating, with 86 percent of Republicans saying they approve of the job he’s doing as president.
They point to Trump’s achievements like the GOP tax law and his appointment of two conservative Supreme Court justices, his work on trade and commitment to border security.
They also point to a bullish economy, a thriving job market and optimism about the future, which many say is a direct result of Trump’s economic policies.
Last month the unemployment rate fell to 3.7 percent, a 49-year low, while the economy added 134,000 jobs. Black employment is the highest its ever been since the 1970s.
