GLORIOSO: The Second Holocaust Is Happening Now In China

It is time for the world to stand up and stop the atrocities being committed by the Chinese government against ethnic minorities in China.

Right now up to three million people are being held in Chinese concentration camps.  Their only “crime” is being Uighurs, the Chinese ethnic minority Muslim population.  The reports coming out of these camps are appalling.  The communist Chinese government has since 2017 been committing a genocide against the Uighur people.  In the concentration camps the Uighur people are subjected to forced labor, torture, systematic rape, forced sterilization, and execution.  The evidence of this is overwhelming, and can no more be denied than the Nazis’ atrocities committed during the second world war.

Recently more and more reports are coming out of Tibet as well documenting the genocide of the Tibetan people.  According to reports coming out of Tibet, the communist Chinese government has been imprisoning Tibetan nuns and subjecting them to torture and rape by Chinese guards.  An unknown number of Tibetan women have been tortured to death in custody of the Chinese government.  Again their only “crime” is being Tibetan Buddhist.

The Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide was unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 9, 1948.  The Convention states, “genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such : (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.”

The Chinese government has committed all of the enumerated acts which define genocide against the Uighur people, and they are now in the process of a similar genocide against the people of Tibet.  US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in January 2021 declared that China has committed “genocide and crimes against humanity” against Uighur Muslims and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups in western Xinjiang Province.  In his statement, Pompeo said crimes include the “arbitrary imprisonment of more than one million civilians, forced sterilization, torture of a large number of those arbitrarily detained, forced labor, and the imposition of draconian restrictions on freedom of religion or belief, freedom of expression, and freedom of movement.”  Pompeo said crimes against Uighur Muslims have been committed since at least March 2017 and “are ongoing.”

The time is now for the world to take action.  An international tribunal should be organized immediately, and charges should be brought against the Chinese government and its leaders.  The International Criminal Court (ICC) has jurisdiction to prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocidecrimes against humanitywar crimes, and the crime of aggression.  If the international security council refuses to refer this matter to the ICC for criminal charges, then the western democracies must take action and form an independent tribunal to hold China accountable.

Any country that continues to trade with China is supporting this genocide.  Any American or foreign business operating in China is supporting this genocide.  There is no difference between those who turned a blind eye to the atrocities of the Nazis, and those who ignore the crimes against humanity being perpetrated by the Chinese government today.

As individuals we must all denounce the actions of the communist Chinese government, and take action by contacting our representatives in Washington D.C. and demanding they subject China to the broadest possible economic sanctions, including removing most favored nation status, banning all American companies from doing business in China or with China, banning all imports from China, and freezing all Chinese assets within the United States.

The Chinese communist government has been gaining more and more power within the United States.  The lack of outrage and coverage of this genocide by the national and international media shows the power of the Chinese government.  The economic power of China was gained through trade with America and Europe.  If we do not stand against this now, we may one day very soon all be prisoners of the communist Chinese regime.
