RADIO: Polling For 2024, Biden Impeachment And The Obamas’ Lousy Movie

This was a segment with Dan Proft and Amy Jacobson on 560 AM The Morning Answer in Chicago which aired live yesterday morning, and it served as a bit of a prelude to the American Spectator column I wrote last night which sits atop that site this morning.

Dan’s opening talks about a poll released by Tony Fabrizio which shows the public is in a red-hot, furious mood about the American economy and their own personal financial situations, and the electoral effects of that, and I chimed in about how the public’s ugly mood affects the political scene and what it does to Joe Biden and the Republican primary race.

Then the conversation moves to pushback that some of the GOP’s old guard Senators – Lindsey Graham chief among them – who are now downplaying and poo-poohing the House Republicans’ vote to open an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. My take on that is it’s a retaliation against the House GOP’s refusal – so far – to move a Ukraine aid package that Biden wants. Mitch McConnell, the leader of the Senate GOP caucus and far and away the most unpopular politician in Washington (how does 6 percent approval and 60 percent disapproval strike you?) has said that funding the forever war/stalemate in Ukraine is his most important priority, something only 41 percent of the public wants to do, and McConnell is a legendary infighter and saboteur of his own party. It’s no surprise that his minions, people like Graham who are used to aiding and abetting that sabotage, are taking pot shots at their House brethren.

Though obviously that’s stupidly counterproductive for the cause these people claim to represent.

And finally, there’s a discussion about Leave The World Behind, the apocalyptic Netflix film which features Barack and Michelle Obama as executive producers, and the bleak, nihilistic, misanthropic tone it offers. As I’ve written, that’s part and parcel of the Obama worldview and it’s of a piece with the destructive effect the Obamas have had on the America we knew before they came along.

That’s a subject, of course, which is discussed in detail in Racism, Revenge and Ruin: It’s All Obama. And if you weren’t aware, the Louisiana Freedom Caucus PAC has signed copies they’ll ship to your door for only a $55 donation to the cause of conservatism in the Bayou State.
