Roemer Vs. Landrieu?

News broke last week that Chas Roemer is being heavily recruited to challenge Senator Mary Landrieu. Today, Sam Hanna Jr. is out with a column calling Roemer “the Republican Party’s best hope of unseating Landrieu”.

Could Roemer, the hard charging President of BESE, be the candidate who could unify the many different wings of the GOP and finally end Landrieu’s Senate career?

Hmm, wasn't Sam Hanna the guy writing about how Chet Traylor has to be the one to take in exchange of Vitter to beat Melancon in 2010? And then said he been lied to after he made his endorsement of Traylor? Yes he was: http://jeffsadow.blogspot.com/2010/08/disappointing-shill-for-traylor-eats.html. And of course Vitter smoked Traylor badly and almost as badly beat Melancon. So take what Hanna writes for whatever it's worth.

I don't care which GOPer beats Landrieu, just get her the hell outta office. I'd certainly like to see a true conservative take it away from her, but that is asking too much. Or, is it? Time will tell.

Perhaps it is someone with connections to Landrieu that is floating this idea? Ms. Landrieu can only hope that she will draw an opponent with as little name recognition as this. She has very narrowly won each of her elections. I think she is serving her final term and will call on her friends to find her a nice, cushy appointment after 2014.
