This Very Well Could Be The Worst Thing The Obama Regime Has Done

Absolutely beyond belief. They have nothing to work with after a year of the FBI digging in an effort to find something with which they can work to bring a civil rights case against George Zimmerman, so

On Monday afternoon, the US Department of Justice appealed to civil rights groups and the general public across the country for “tips” on George Zimmerman in their pursuit of potential federal civil rights charges against the just-acquitted defendant in the Trayvon Martin killing. The DOJ actually went so far as to set up an e-mail address to allow such tips: Sanford.florida@usdoj.gov. The email address is slated to go operational by the end of the week.

Barbara Arnwine, president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law told the Orlando Sentinel that the DOJ had held a Monday conference call “calling on us to actively refer anyone who had any information” that would help build a case against Zimmerman. “They said they would very aggressively investigate this case,” Arnwine stated.

According to Arnwine, the call began at 3:30 p.m. with Tom Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States DOJ, and representatives of the FBI on the line. Several prosecutors joined the call, too.

Thomas Perez, who is up for Labor Secretary and whose nomination has been held up by Republicans in the Senate so far, is the same walking disaster who opted not to prosecute the New Black Panthers for brandishing night sticks and making racist threats outside a Philadelphia polling place in November 2008. He’s also the walking disaster who is fighting Voter ID legislation across the country in direct confrontation with the 75 percent of the American public who think it’s a common sense, non-invasive measure to prevent voter fraud. And he’s the walking disaster who brought a case against the state of Louisiana, which has the fourth-highest percentage of voter registration among eligible adults, for failing to register welfare recipients to vote with sufficient vigor.

And now Perez is heading up what can only be described as a fishing expedition in an effort to find something – anything – which would support the nonexistent narrative of Zimmerman as racist who hates blacks.

Zimmerman has African blood flowing through his veins from his mother’s side of the family.

Zimmerman mentored black kids, even at the time of the Trayvon Martin incident.

Zimmerman took a black girl to his high school prom.

Zimmerman had a black business partner.

Zimmerman entered into a public confrontation with the Sanford Police Department over its treatment of a black homeless man.

You cannot prove Zimmerman as a hater of black people. There is nothing available to make that case.

But rather than recognize this patently obvious fact, we have…crowdsourcing. By the U.S. Justice Department.

There won’t actually be a case brought by DOJ against Zimmerman. They won’t do it, because to do so will involve failing to secure an indictment by a grand jury or, in the odd chance they can find a grand jury willing to issue an indictment, having the case thrown out by a federal judge long before it reaches trial.

Instead, they’ll keep an investigation open.

Politically, which is all these soulless hacks care about, keeping the investigation open is a winner with little downside. Politically, it’s defensible – “we’ll continue to investigate this matter as long as it takes for the truth to come out.”

And politically, the benefit is to keep the black community on a razor’s edge and riled up, and rooting for the Obama administration as they carry the standard for Trayvon.

Also politically, a never-ending Zimmerman fishing expedition allows the regime to mau-mau any white people or conservatives who decry the travesty of justice such actions would represent as racists.

And politically, continuing to hold the focus on the Zimmerman controversy and the racial animus involved in it will suck the air out of anything else the country might find interesting. Like, for example, the IRS scandal. Or Benghazi. Or the NSA. Or Fast and Furious. Or the abject failure of Obamacare. Or the budget, or the debt limit, or Syria, or Egypt, or the death of the Gang of Eight amnesty bill, or any of the myriad other issues where Obama’s failed governance is obvious.

Maintaining a bogus federal investigation will also have the effect of bankrupting the Zimmerman family with attorney’s fees and harassing them to an extent which will ruin their lives, and doing so allows Obama and Eric Holder to present that to the race industry as – not justice, but revenge. It amounts to their telling the race industry and its adherents, “this system that the racist white man has imposed upon us may stop us from putting that man in the jail we agree he deserves, but if we can’t do that the least we can do is to continue to make his life hell as a punishment for what he has done.”

Patrick J. Buchanan, who isn’t always right, nevertheless hit the nail on the head when he characterized this case’s new phase…

If Barack Obama and Eric Holder capitulate to Al Sharpton’s demand for “Plan B” and the NAACP’s demand for a second trial of George Zimmerman for a crime of which he has been acquitted, most Americans will come to believe this is no search for justice, but a drive for racial retribution and revenge. And they will be right.

Barack Obama and Eric Holder took oaths to faithfully execute and uphold the law. To put taxpayer resources and public focus on a crowdsourced snipe hunt in an effort to create Zimmerman as a virulent bigot out for black blood – because a piece of a demographic which is favorable to Obama’s political advancement might find satisfaction and pleasure by it – couldn’t be farther from those oaths.

It is patent lawlessness. It is Third World, tinpot, banana republic tyranny.

Our founding fathers are pinwheeling in their graves at this outrage. But rather than a source of shame to these people that is a point of pride, because they see the Founders as dead white racists unworthy of respect either in their persons or in the philosophical or structural patrimony they left us.

Either someone puts a stop to this post haste, or the consequences of it will be so severe as to endanger the very fabric of our civil society. And once that’s gone, 237 years of American greatness goes with it – and this will become just another place on a hair trigger, where tribal violence and ethnic cleansing are one bad news cycle from reality.

That could well be the legacy of Barack Obama and Eric Holder. Can’t they see that? Is that actually what they want?

And are we prepared to know the answers to those questions?
