The Hayride’s 2010 Great American Web-A-Thon

PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online! It’s July, and that means it’s time for our quarterly fundraising drive here at The Hayride. We apologize for putting the arm on our readers, but the time spent bringing you 6-10 updates per day on Louisiana and national politics means this isn’t just a hobby. The site has to be monetized one way or the other.

And we’re just not going to charge subscriptions. We can’t stand subscription-based websites. They run off readers, they interfere with the message, they depress traffic and they remind us too freakin’ much of the dinosaur newspaper business we’re out to bury. So that part is out.

We do sell ads on the site, and later this month we’ll have an announcement that our readers who own Louisiana-based businesses might well find interesting. But advertising revenue in this economy and on a relatively new site isn’t going to get us to the finish line just yet.

Which means we need support from you. Yeah, you. We know, we know, getting hit up for a donation stinks. Particularly when it’s an obnoxious nutria with an Uncle Sam hat doing the hitting. Woulda had a red, white and blue tux on, too, but couldn’t find one in my size.

But it’s not about me, it’s about you. Please help us however you can. We’ve made it very easy to use credit cards to donate to the site – we just use PayPal. You don’t have to have a PayPal account, just a credit or debit card. They will even process e-checks. It’s very simple. Takes two minutes. And it’s completely secure.

Or if you still get the willies about moving money online, we take checks as well. Simply send us whatever you feel is appropriate (five bucks is fine, five hundred bucks and we’ll be your buddy for life) to:

Hayride Media, LLC
9007 Highland Rd., #15
Baton Rouge, LA 70810

Thanks in advance for your support, and thanks in any event for your continued readership!
