Government vs. Prosperity: How U.S. Energy Policy Harms Louisiana And The Nation

A Pelican Institute Luncheon – Dec. 10, 2010

Energy is a master resource and essential building block of the modern economy. Yet affordable, plentiful, and reliable energy is under attack. The Obama Administration’s “Green Team” promotes climate alarmism and seeks to reorder society through forced energy transformation. Renewable energy, led by windpower, is their holy grail.

Why is government-dependent renewable energy perennially uncompetitive and unreliable? Why has the the Obama Administration created the second Gulf Crisis with its de facto drilling moratorium? And is there a way to defuse the climate scare and return to rational energy policy?

Energy expert Robert L. Bradley Jr. will answer these questions and more ….

Bradley is the founder and CEO of the Institute for Energy Research located in Houston, Texas and Washington, D.C. He is author of six books including Energy: The Master Resource (with Richard Fulmer) and, most recently, Capitalism at Work: Business, Government, and Energy. He is a popular speaker at events around the country and lists New Orleans as his favorite American city.
