KETCHUM, Idaho — A central Idaho couple is fighting their condominium association over the American flag they’ve unfurled outside their unit.

Steve and Robin Perfect are flying a flag outside their Hailey condo in honor of Robin Perfect’s son, who is bound for Iraq with an Idaho Army National Guard unit.

But the flag violates Copper Ranch Homeowners’ Association rules, which forbid tenants from placing items in the complex’s common area.

Property manager Brian Emerick told the Idaho Mountain Express that he sent letters to the Perfects on behalf of the association board, reminding them of rules that prohibit display of anything outdoors.
