New Iberia City Council hopes Senate District 22 stays

Candidates are making a final push for the 22nd District State Senate seat. New Iberia City Council is making its push to keep that district from changing when senators redraw the lines in March.

When voters punch the name of one of six candidates on Saturday, they could indirectly be choosing what changes in their district.

“If we would be moved to a larger parish, we may not have the representation that we have today,” New Iberia Mayor Hilda Curry said.
