Today, the President gave a stump speech disguised as a budget proposal. Or perhaps it’s better to say a “budget proposal,” because while he might have read words off a teleprompter for 25 minutes, there was no accompanying document which detailed anything.
In short, it was crap. It was demagoguery offered in response to a real budget proposal offered by Rep. Paul Ryan, and it came up terribly short. It rehashed a series of tired initiatives and ideological talking points in the Left’s traditional bag – as though the November 2010 election never happened.
And it put the Vice President to sleep.
We were going to do a line-by-line deconstruction of the speech, but then Dick Morris came along and captured more or less everything we were going to say. So we’ll let Morris handle it from here…
