POLITICO chopped up the video of King grunting while the candidates were trying to answer his questions, and it’s a stark indication of how completely obnoxious his performance was…

Some of this was structural, as CNN used an “honor system” in an effort to keep everybody in line with their time allotments and so it was left to King to try to keep them in line. A clock would have been a lot better.

But that’s not all of it. King very often started grunting at these people well before they were 30 seconds into their answers. And that begs the question – was he trying to screw up the Republicans, or is he part hyena?
