Such A Mean Republican, That Romney Guy

Birther jokes.

We like “Obama eats dogs” jokes better than birther jokes. But this will do for now. And it’ll do for now because it gets into the domes of the Obama camp. They go discobiscuits about this stuff.

Here’s proof

The Obama campaign swiftly responded to the comment, blasting Romney as having “embraced the most strident voices in his party instead of standing up to them.”

“It’s one thing to give the stage in Tampa to Donald Trump, Sheriff Arpaio, and Kris Kobach. But Governor Romney’s decision to directly enlist himself in the birther movement should give pause to any rational voter across America,” said Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt.

Hey LaDolt, he’s not a birther. He’s just clownin’ on y’all. Big difference.

Romney needs to stick pins in Obama like this the rest of the campaign. He needs to be Bob Hope.

Remember Bob Hope? He had this stuff down pat…

Deadpan one-liners. Get the crowd rollin’.

And then along comes LaDolt, or Stephanie Gutter, or that Axelrod cat, to have a conniption on TV.

Who’s havin’ fun? Romney’s people who get to laugh at Obama, or Obama’s people, who spend their time outraged and pissed-off? That ain’t a hard question.

Want another idea? Romney oughta tell a joke about how Obama has his mother-in-law livin’ with him in the White House. He oughta come up with somethin’ about how Obama’s a henpecked girly-man who can’t control his own scene and no wonder nobody respects the dude. Make it light, make it obviously a funny deal, somethin’ Leno would do on his show, but do it anyway. Or better yet, have Ann Romney make that joke – Mitt’s a great guy, a generous guy, a wonderful guy, but Mitt controls his scene and I wasn’t gonna even try to make him live with his mother in law, ever. Somethin’ like that.

Because if you do, they’ll send out fish-mouth Stephanie Gutter or Debbie Downer, or maybe three-grand-a-year’s-worth-of-rubbers-and-birth-control-pills Sandra Fluke to scream about how Romney hates women. Every time they do that they look like asses. Especially if Romney was to also tell some Todd Akin jokes here and there as well.

Republicans need to make fun of this War On Women business. It’s ridiculous, so go ridicule it. If you’re gonna bust him on the birther thing, go for broke.
