Charles Durning Died Last Night…

…he was 89.

Charles Durning was one of the best character actors Hollywood’s ever produced. He was absolutely one of the funniest character actors.

This was one of our favorite Charles Durning scenes; from Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. He was the governor…

He was also the governor in O Brother Where Art Thou…

And he was the coach everybody hated in North Dallas Forty…

There’s no YouTube clip of it, but Durning was also Col. Erhardt in Mel Brooks’ remake of To Be Or Not To Be, and he was beyond hilarious in that. His IMDB page has a mind-boggling array of roles listed, from movies everybody has seen and other stuff not a lot of people saw.

We’ll miss him. He was great.
