This isn’t an April Fool’s joke.
It’s from testimony last week at a legislative committee hearing in Florida, during markup of a bill that would impose a requirement on abortion clinics to provide medical care for infants born alive during botched abortion proceedings.
And yes, that’s a rare case. Rare, but not unheard of. There are live, adult human beings around the country who survived abortions.
A baby who survives an abortion and is born alive is a human being infused with all the God-given rights of any other human being. That should be a very obvious principle that anyone of good faith would agree to. It’s not controversial.
And yet here’s this video…
Alisa LaPolt Snow, the woman in this video, is not some secretary for Planned Parenthood. She’s their lobbyist in Florida. She’s also a former reporter for the AP and Gannett. It’s not like she doesn’t have a background dealing with public policy questions.
Sure, Planned Parenthood needs a better lobbyist. That’s a ridiculous performance. Snow is obviously incompetent as an advocate at the Florida legislature. Those weren’t hard questions for a normal human being to answer with a coherent response, and her failure to answer them gives rise to the critique that Planned Parenthood is pro-infanticide.
But understand – Planned Parenthood is pro-infanticide. At least, their Florida affiliate is.
Because if they weren’t pro-infanticide, they wouldn’t be sending Alisa LaPolt Snow to the legislature to testify in opposition to the bill.
And she’d have a lot clearer understanding of Planned Parenthood’s position with which to answer those questions.
Or maybe Snow had a perfectly good understanding of that position but she realized that to articulate it would do some pretty serious damage to Planned Parenthood. Because the bill in question imposes a duty to abortion providers to save children born during a botched abortion. Planned Parenthood wants those children done away with, because there are all kinds of ugly consequences flowing from such situations. Like lawsuits, for example. Or horrendous publicity.
Better to be done with the whole thing. Dead babies tell no tales, and so on.
This episode is one more example of the fact that Planned Parenthood is an evil organization. It’s the legacy of an evil woman, Margaret Sanger, who espoused an evil agenda of depopulating “undesirable” elements of society. And while Sanger was actually anti-abortion (she was more into sterilization and birth control), Planned Parenthood has taken her ideas and run with them.
With your tax dollars.
Planned Parenthood, by the way, is constructing a giant abortion center in New Orleans, on the corner of Claiborne Ave. and Napoleon Ave., to be completed in 2014. It’s perfectly located to service college kids at Tulane and Loyola as well as the denizens of the housing projects up the road. Particularly the latter.
One wonders whether we’ll get to see a lobbyist from Planned Parenthood defending infanticide at the Louisiana legislature thereafter.
