KANE: Report Says Natural Gas Could Help The Environment

A new report, released Tuesday by The Pelican Institute, provides insight into how Louisiana’s growing natural gas industry may help the state’s economic and environmental outlook.

Risk Reward & Revolution” by Alex Bozmoski and Andrew Holland shows that while environmental dangers pose a significant threat to our state, Louisiana is also uniquely positioned to offer solutions to the country and the world. Specifically, exporting U.S. natural gas could achieve the dual benefits of global climate-change mitigation and local/national economic development.

Author to Speak at Policy Luncheon Today 

The Pelican Institute released the report on the same day of their Luncheon examining free-market solutions to environmental challenges, and will host Bozmoski as one of their guest panelists.

The panel, including Bill Cassidy and Garret Graves, will discuss how policymakers can make intelligent use of markets to address our environmental challenges. Hosted by The Pelican Institute, free side seating is available for working media.
