I’m doin’ a college golf post.
What does it take to get yours truly to do a college golf post? You guessed it – somebody local done somethin’ good.
Which, in this case, is LSU winnin’ all the marbles against the University of Spoiled Children. That’s USC, y’all.
Video: Watch as Ben Taylor rolls in his par putt at the 18th hole to win the #LSU Tigers the national championship! The Tigers have now been crowned the NCAA Champions on the golf course 5 times in their history as they also own wins in 1940, 1941, 1947 and 1955!

Ben Taylor’s from London. In England. You might think he’s an Aussie, but he’s not.
You know who else is not? USC is not. They’re not national champs in golf this year, an’ they weren’t national champs in football in 2003. So there.
LSU used to win national championships in golf a good bit in the 1940’s and 1950’s, but it’s been 60 years since winnin’ one. They lost in the semifinals last year to Alabama, who ended up winnin’ the whole shootin’ match, an’ now they brought home some hardware to put in the trophy case. It’s the fifth time they’ve won the title.
So now Paul Mainieri’s team just got showed up by a bunch of golfers. What’s he gonna do about it?
