Sen. Mike Lee, who has endorsed Ted Cruz and been endorsed by Cruz for a position in Republican leadership in the Senate, is one of the more intellectual, thoughtful and calm members of a body known for people possessing those traits.
But after John Boehner let loose with a torrent of highly personal invective aimed at Ted Cruz, and Rep. Peter King followed suit with more of the same, Lee broke from his usual character and shot back at Boehner with both barrels in a call-in appearance earlier tonight on Mark Levin’s show. This is nearly seven minutes of radio so compelling it might make history.
One thing this electoral cycle is not is boring. Sheesh!
