Week After Six NOLA Residents Robbed At Gunpoint, Mitch Landrieu Leaves City To Campaign For Hillary Clinton

Mayor Mitch Landrieu of New Orleans found the time to take a day off from his usual city business to travel to Maryland to apparently stump for Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

Landrieu posted this to his Facebook page on Sunday, in which he posed for photos with Maryland locals to ask his supporters to vote for Clinton.

Take a look:

Landrieu’s trip to campaign for Clinton comes after a week where six people were robbed at gunpoint in the Marigny neighborhood in less than 45 minutes.

Also, just last week, Landrieu was hit with the brutal news that his approval rating has plummeted since 2013, as the Hayride reported.

While black residents approval of Landrieu increased eight percentage points since 2013, his approval among white residents plummeted from 78 percent to now 49 percent.

Overall, Landrieu’s approval rating has slumped as well. Back in 2013, 65 percent of residents said they approved of Landrieu. Just three years later, that number has dropped five percentage points.
