Have you had a problem with thieves stealing your online purchases and other delivered items from your doorstep? With the significant changes having been made to the way retailers do business and so much of our shopping now being done from home, and the increased dependence on UPS delivery and so forth, it’s becoming a wide-scale problem.

Those packages are quite vulnerable to criminals just coming by to cart them off, and there is little you can do to protect your doorstep if you’re away at work.

What’s needed is just a little bit of deterrence, and an example or two being made of a would-be parcel thief. Which in this video is precisely what’s done. The brilliant Tom Mabe decided to rig a parcel with a bit of explosive and some excrement to be used as a payload, and timed his device to engage 40 seconds after being moved. This, after he and his neighbors noticed the presence of a parcel thief.

Lo and behold, the theif made himself available to be baited and pooped upon.
