With the political and violent turmoil unfolding the past few years, many Americans say the country is at war with itself, and that sentiment is likely more accurate than most people realize or care to acknowledge.

National Review posted an article explaining its take on how the United States reached this point.

“Almost every cultural and social institution — universities, the public schools, the NFL, the Oscars, the Tonys, the Grammys, late-night television, public restaurants, coffee shops, movies, TV, stand-up comedy — has been not just politicized but also weaponized.”

To summarize the article, the groundwork was laid with the tech bubble, higher learning institutions, the global agenda, and Barack Obama’s polarizing eight years as President. The liberals melted following the surprise victory of Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in November 2016. The response from the Left has been that of escalating extremism.

In likely the most rash incident in the past several weeks, Maxine Waters, who has been an elected member of the U.S. House of Representatives for California since 1991, openly called for the American public to become aggressive toward Trump staffers and supporters.

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said.

“The people are going to turn on them, they are gonna protest, they are gonna absolutely harass them.”

Keep in mind Maxine Waters has been in Congress 27 years. She is the epitome of the self serving politician. Are her constituents better off with her representation? She is a rabble-rousing divider paid with public money.

The Democrats are boiling with hatred and they are advocating bullying. The Left is certainly not condemning violence. The people who want to disarm Americans are the same people supporting aggression and hostility toward Americans, and it would be convenient if the Left’s opposition didn’t own firearms. The purveyors of violence against Americans includes members of the media, who explode on any comment on “non traditional” types like the Trans movement, but have no qualms about calling for violence when it fits their cause.

The President’s son Eric Trump recently said most of the Trump family members have been sent white powder. Back in February Donald Trump Jr.’s spouse was rushed to the hospital after she opened mail containing a white powder.  Politicians and reporters have been classifying acts of violence as “domestic terrorism,” but it’s more extreme and more radical. The goal is not to create terror, it’s to strike down an enemy.  America has a power struggle being fought on a grassroots level. Videos surface online of fights in the streets between two large groups, one side waving Amerian flags and Trump signs, the other masked, waving middle eastern and AntiFascist flags, and burning American flags.

A State Department official who gathered intelligence in unstable countries around the world for a decade returned to the United States during summer 2017 and was struck by the incivility popping up around the country.  Keith Mines served with the Foreign Service in El Salvador, Haiti, Mexico, Hungary, Afghanistan, Iraq, Darfur, and Israel.  While the views he shared lean heavily left, his general definition of “civil war” involved national guard involvement.

Much of the contemporary violence remains isolated.  The war isn’t thousands of troops lined up ready to face off. The incidents are smaller with a few hundred people and only a dozen or two on each side actually scrapping. Some events have escalated requiring SWAT teams to maintain order.

Still, the evidence is on display for anyone willing to accept it. Starting with the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin in Florida in 2012, then Michael Brown in Ferguson in 2014, then Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge in 2015.

The news media instigates battle lines. Each incident follows the same mold: the left is victimized, the right is the source cause. A violent act is followed by a political movement.  This is the pattern that identifies the radicalization of America. If the incident cannot be molded to support the attack on conservative America, the incident is forgotten by the media. For example, an Alt Left gunman shot House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and the shooter’s life was examined, then excused. No condemnation of every belief or associated politician. He volunteered for failed Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.  The media didn’t care.

A black man entered a Nashville church during Sunday service and opened fire on a congregation of mostly white folks, but it was lost in the news cycle. The Nashville church gunman wrote about “revenge or retaliation” for Dylann Roof’s church shooting.  Media paid it little mind. Compare that with a deranged white kid shooting a church full of black churchgoers. His life is deconstructed. A picture of him holding an American flag is pushed aside for a picture with him holding a Confederate battle flag. The media championed liberal politicians who led a politically correct culture war to purge the surrendered South of its past.

The media fuels a double standard. It’s why their ratings are dismal. It’s why reporters are not trusted. It’s also why Donald Trump is President, because Americans are tired of being told they caused someone else’s problems. Trump calls CNN “Fake News” and it hits a chord with the large population of people the network regularly castigates.

Keith Mines, the government official who thinks America may be en route to a Civil War, said news outlets have a role in the hostile atmosphere.  “Press and information flow is more and more deliberately divisive, and it’s increasingly easy to put out bad info and incitement.”

Look at the hypocrisy. After Charleston, the Left and the Media pushed to remove Rebel flags from view and from purchase. Opportunists like Mitch Landrieu jumped on an anti-historical campaign to remove century-old monuments erected after the deaths of Southern leaders. Yet when a Muslim kills people in a gay night club, Barack Obama says that Islam is a religion of peace and that people should not judge all Muslims. In one instance, the left labeled and condemned the South, specifically white Southern males. In the other instance, they insisted people keep an open mind toward practicing Islamists, a religion that teaches homosexuality is punishable by death.

The war has two sides: liberals who call for socialistic measures and conservatives who call for liberty.  The ill-named Alt Left group AntiFascists encourage violence to reach their goals.  The AntiFascists or Antifas began “winning” public altercations by outnumbering, bullying, and using pepper spray. But these masked violent incidents caused Americans to react more drastically and people are defending themselves.

The Alt Left and Media jump at the opportunity to attack conservatives with allegations of racism.  It’s slanderous and results in the accused being found guilty in the court of public opinion.  Speak up, and the Left/Media will shout you down. This is bullying, people on the Left have become masters of bullying.

The War Between The States was not a Civil War.  It was the United States invading and fighting the Confederate States.  By definition, a civil war is a war between factions over the control of a country.  The South wanted independence, it did not want to rule the northern states.  The 1861-65 war technically was not a “civil war.”

What’s going on today looks more and more like a true civil war. Antifa and the Alt Left want to overthrow President Trump.  News outlets like NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and ABC have on-air personalities that day and night dig and push Anti-Trump angles.  They are campaigning around the clock to combat his reelection.  They hypocritically beat the drum when some Russians tried to influence the 2016 campaign, but the media ignores their own biased, incessant campaigning.  The emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement, based around the fabricated “Hands up, don’t shoot” portion of the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, was embraced and catapulted by American Media.  The Media and the Alt Left are encouraging an overthrow of government, that is by definition a civil war.

An examination of local New Orleans incidents includes the attempt to burn down Memorial Hall Museum the night Trump crushed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Then a group of malcontents protested and rioted. They vandalized and broke bank windows along St. Charles Avenue downtown. The perpetrators could be easily identified through social media, yet neither authorities nor Media attempted to apprehend or identify the criminals.

Antifas attacked peaceful protesters at the Jeff Davis monument before it was removed. Take Em Down NOLA has held two large protests in their pitiful attempt to remove Andrew Jackson with plenty of masked Antifas. And the near-regular vandalism of monuments has only resulted in two arrests, and that was of two pro-monument people who did it in front of police in broad daylight, quite a different tactic than the Antifas.

The New Orleans Media has covered some of this, but they do plenty of covering up to conceal the extreme nature of the AntiFascists who are embedding in New Orleans.  As an example, they didn’t show “Die Whites Die” or “F**k White People” spray painted during the anti-Trump riot. The local Media has sat back and let anarchists assemble in New Orleans without any observation.

The large, violent incidents have occurred in different parts of the country.  Trayvon Martin in Florida.  Michael Brown shot in Missouri.  The Charleston massacre.  Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge.  The San Bernadino attack.  The Muslim who shot up an Orlando gay club.  The attack on police officers in Dallas.  Then police officers were fatally ambushed in Baton Rouge.  The group of Democrats doing Shakespeare in Central Park revised Julius Caesar to feature the assassination of Donald Trump.  The Nashville Church shooting.  The attempted assassination of House Whip Steve Scalise.  Riots in Charlottesville, Virginia.  And the Las Vegas concert slayings.

The acts of violence are followed by political campaigns. Standoffs in the streets, between the Alt Left and Alt Right, escalate into violent skirmishes. This is occurring across the country. These are seemingly isolated events, but when pooled together, they are acts of war.

Those involved want to overthrow American government, not in favor of a smaller, responsible, more efficient government, but one that is of the Left, by the Left and for the Left, at the expense of everyone who dares to disagree.
