Now more than ever, the consequence of the decades-long, cultural Marxist assault on America’s families is being thrust into the daylight as our bloated, corrupt government institutions have been transformed into delivery systems for America’s decline. America’s churches on the whole have morphed into a soft reflection of God’s Word, fat and lazy, seeking societal approval and government largesse as they take the wide path to destruction.

There is a change soon coming in Louisiana, out of the darkness into the light that was beaming from the pulpit of a church in Alexandria, Louisiana, on Father’s Day, where Attorney General Jeff Landry, members of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus and others from the state legislature, attended a rousing church service hosted by the Pentecostals of Alexandria.

[There was little talk of politics but we did get a few questions in to some of the officials after. More on that later.]

With a nod to the visiting government officials, then reminding the church laity they “do not tell people who to vote for in this church, but we do ask them to vote,” Pastor Gentry Mangun dug into his sermon with an opening aimed at these visiting dignitaries.

“We aren’t debating economics anymore, it’s not tax reforms that’s at the top of our media’s list of issues that America needs to fix. Instead, it’s gender ideology. Gender affirmation is being thrown in our face each and every day. Beer companies are promoting it, and they’re taking a major hit, thank God. Stores are promoting it, and they’re taking a major hit, thank God. You can hardly find a newly-released cartoon or an animation film that doesn’t put out some sort of same sex marriage or transgender messaging. Disney is promoting it in about everything they do, attacking our kids. The Los Angeles Dodgers over this past weekend had a pride night where there were drag queens dressed up as nuns who were honored with a community hero award. Same sex marriage is being applauded everywhere.”

Mangun called on strong, devout men to rise up in defense of America’s families, to be the fathers who will take on the responsibility of raising their children, instead of letting social media and Hollywood groom them into confusion, emptiness and ruin.

“We need devout men, devout fathers who are devoted to their families, strong men who will stand in this hour and say, ‘Not my kids, not my family. The responsibility of grooming them is mine. I need to be a father who rises up, no matter what it costs me, and tells this untoward generation you’re not going to groom my kids. I’m the one who is going to be grooming my kids and they’re going to be groomed in a godly, Spirit-led home (holding up Bible), where this Word, this two-edged sword, will cut through anything coming against my family.’”

Quite a difference from the pablum coming from most pulpits in America today. But Pastor Mangun didn’t stop there. He dug in deeper, reminding those in the media that bigotry is not a Christian ideal:

“Everybody is welcome here. Every race, every creed, every color, every nationality, every homosexual, every transvestite, every addict, every adulterer, every liar, every drunkard, every fornicator, every sinner like me is welcome in this house… This is America. Men and women have died so that you can live your life any way you so choose, but they also died to give me the right to call it sinful and wrong without fear of imprisonment or being fined or being fired. Let me tell you this morning it is wrong. What they’re trying to do to our families and our kids is wrong. I don’t care what the media says, I don’t care what society says, sin is still wrong.”

We caught up to Attorney General Jeff Landry, who is well-positioned to be a major part of the coming change as Louisiana seeks to shake off the dust of the bottom rung bought by a near-century of Huey Long-style politics and self-indulgent political patronage. What was the Attorney General’s message on Father’s Day?

“Being a father is one of the greatest joys of my life.  It is our job to protect and keep the family unit together,” Landry said, then added, “Happy Father’s Day to all the dads across our great state!”

Soon-to-be former Governor John Bel Edwards has threatened to veto the bill passed by the legislature that would ban surgery and puberty blockers given to minors for the sole purpose of attempting to change the child’s biological sex. When asked what he would do as Governor if the bill were sent to his desk, Landry said, “This is about protecting our most precious natural resource, our children. Several states have recognized the importance of protecting our children and have taken steps to do so. Children have been a priority during my tenure as Attorney General and will be a priority as Governor.”

State Representative Kathy Edmonston, a Freedom Caucus founding member, got the award for traveling the farthest distance to come celebrate fatherhood with the Attorney General, some of her colleagues and friends.

“What a glorious day and message for fathers, but also for all the people of Louisiana. We are a state with endless potential and strong people. It is time for Louisiana to throw off the shackles of bad leadership and get the excellence in government we deserve,” Edmonston said.

State Representative Gabe Firment was in attendance and got a standing ovation from the church laity for bringing the bill banning sex change surgery for minors. A long, loud and resounding standing ovation.
