Many big-box retailers, Target in particular, serve to benefit from this act. Interchange revenue stands to protect individuals from credit card fraud. The CCCA calls for the removal of this buffer by inserting a third party into all purchases regarding credit cards. A third party will have access to private American information. If the CCCA is passed, as advocated for by Target, UnionPay, a well-known Chinese run company will have access to your private purchasing history.

The CCCA poses a serious threat to both small businesses and consumers. Our economy will see a decrease in small businesses while also putting the private information of consumers at risk. I hope that Senator Kennedy and Senator Cassidy fight for the state of Louisiana and stop Target from ruining American society.
