Tonight, at Metairie Country Club, is the Louisiana Freedom Caucus PAC’s election kickoff event. It’s a dinner featuring the PAC’s endorsees in legislative races across the state as we seek to turn Louisiana meaningfully red.

Our featured speaker is Louisiana solicitor general Liz Murrill, who has fought the good fight for safe streets and competent, limited government for seven years in her current job, including some 39 separate lawsuits completed or ongoing against the Biden administration over its various overreaches. Murrill, a candidate for the open position of Attorney General, as her current boss Jeff Landry is running for governor, is a perfect headliner for an event focused on making positive conservative change in Louisiana.

Landry will give a special video message to the audience, as will Louisiana House Republican Delegation chairman Rep. Blake Miguez.

Also set to speak is Andy Roth, the president of the State Freedom Caucus Network. Roth, the former president of the Club For Growth, is a respected hand in national conservative circles; his efforts at building a “farm system” of Freedom Caucus conservatives in state legislatures across America are bearing tremendous fruit in a short period of time.

Two members of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus in the state legislature will also speak. Beryl Amedee, the secretary-treasurer of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus, will talk about what it’s like serving as a principled conservative in a Louisiana legislature run by people like Clay Schexnayder and Page Cortez during the John Bel Edwards era, and what’s nevertheless already been accomplished. And Alan Seabaugh, the chairman of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus, will discuss what the Caucus can and will accomplish in the near future.

But the focus of the event will be on the Caucus members running for re-election and those expected to join – both incumbents running for re-election who’ll likely add to the ranks next year, and new candidates seeking legislative seats we’re currently vetting for endorsements. We’re expecting this election cycle will result in a significant move to the right throughout Louisiana, and our efforts are to pay that off in producing real leadership which moves us forward.
